“When the weather is playing along, a must”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

As soon as the sun starts shining, it's the place everybody meets to enjoy the weather. It's a very well maintained, clean big park. I love it!

“Love going, but have a map!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

This is a terrific forest right on the outside of Brussels, It is very easy to get to on the 44 Tram to Tervuren that starts at Montgomery Circle. It is larger than you think, so make sure you have a map. It is very clean, but also a little gloomy if it is raining. Go in the morning for a run and you won't forget it!

“My favourite park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

As a local living on the border to Bois de la Cambre, this is one of my favourite areas.
You can go for a run, a walk, ride a bicycle, relax on the grass, watch the swans on the lake or enjoy the few restaurants and waffle cars scattered around. The huge Foret de Soignes is just across where you can really get lost or have a little outdoor adventure.
It's beautiful all year round .

“Beautiful in any season”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

As a local, I've visted this park many years over and over again, the whole year round! It's nicknamed the 'garden of the Brussels'. In summer the grass next to the lake is very popular. Try the pond to cross the water and visit the Island and try one of the little boats.

“Incredible”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

This is an amazing thing to have just outside a capital. Close to one of the main arteries of Brussels (Avenue Louise) just after the Abbey lies Bois de la Cambre (a park with a little lake) and from there you can walk into Foret de Soignes (a huge forest just outside Brussels).
You can't walk here from the city center but you can get here by public transport (the best option is the tramway), by car or by bike.
Bois de la Cambre: just lie down in front of the lake with a good book or organize a pic-nic (I would not go to have lunch at the restaurant - quality is average and prices are high).
Foret de Soignes: AMAZING. a forest just outside the European capital. If the wheather allows it, you can spend your day walking, cycling or riding a horse surrounded by nature. You actually won't believe that you are in the capital of Europe. Careful if you don't know your way. It's so big you can indeed get lost. Do not walk in there during the night. It's as dark as... a forest during the night.
