Owner description: More than 250 vehicles cover the story of the automobile history since its early days. One zone is dedicated to sports and racing cars, while "Belgium at Autoworld" tells the love story between Belgium and the automobile industry. A different themed temporary exhibition is organized every 2-3 months! Discover this museum in the Southern Hall of the Cinquantenaire in Brussels, one of the most beautiful architectural buildings of Belgium. Autoworld, more than a museum!

An airship hanger full of a very large collection of cars and motorcycles is well worth a visit. The Military Museum is on the other side of the square which outstanding (and free), especially if you like aircraft and there is also the park and the monument in this location so don't miss.

Loads of cars to see, plenty of history and information to read... You could spend hours here if you have an interest in cars. Lots of different models from the 20s right up until today...

It is an amazing collction of cars from the 1890's on. So many cars that I had never heard of but had their place in history. You could easily spend a couple of hours here. Nice store with hundreds of minature versions of the cars on display.

This was NOT my choice of stop ... In fact I was actively doing everything in my power to prevent my son discovering its existence. Well ... the well-laid plans of mothers do sometimes go astray.

I will report here that the men of the family had an absolute blast! Not much more than a big expo-style exhibition hall filled with cars of all ages, makes, and models, this seemed to be enough for my petrol-heads to spend a delighted hour perusing and photographing the 100s of cars on display. There is very little information about any of the cars, but this didn't bother those who already knew what they needed to know. Here in August 2013 there is a Lamborghini 50-year retrospective and teh boys reported seeing several cars they'd never seen "in the flesh" before. I don't recall them saying, however, that there was any extremely special car in the building.

For those of us not-so-into-cars, there is a shop, cafe, and some benches. The Metro "Merido?" stop is very convenient to it. Oddly, it was the more expensive (at 9-euros) museum we visited all day. The Triumphal Arch at Cinquantenaire Park is adjacent.

I shouldn't have tried so hard to prevent the boys finding this museum which brought them so much happiness!

Even if you are not a car nut you will enjoy seeing vehicles up to the 1950's-60's. While most are from European manufacturers there is a sprinkling of US models. The cars a beautifully displayed and easily viewed on two floors of this well organized facility.
