A very nice place, really cosy, wooden panels and just the place where you goto enjoy some good, well prepared food. There are specials every day which are excellent, friendly service and a good relation quality/price. A place to remember !

During the rare nice days there is a quite animated terrace. Enjoy !

Well, the too large choice on the menu puzzled me a bit so I sticked with the basics - grilled salmon and vegetables which actually was quite tasty but nothing spectacular though. Some of the people at the table ordered tarte tatin for dessert and it looked pretty delicious. the meat plates ordered were not much prased

The restaurant, situated opposite the cinema on the Toison d'Or, offers a spacious, calm environment, with a slightly older clientele to that that you normally find in Brussels. The food was, perhaps a little under salted, but otherwise was well presented, and of high quality. The service was efficient, if not the friendliest. Overall a good experience, and one that I would try again.

Whereas Avenue Toison d'Or is busy (cafés, taverns, cinemas and trendy clothing and shoe shops), the other side of the boulevard, Boulevard de Waterloo is much quieter. And so is the Copenhagen Tavern, pleasantly decorated in warm colours, shiny brass and mahogany furniture. The atmosphere is "plush" and tables are well-spaced, so the restaurant exhales a general feeling of cosiness.

The menu focuses on fish, as a Danish restaurant should (I recommend the varied cold fish platters, but do expect a few smoked varieties !) Other dishes, including more typically Belgian ones, are offered as well (no mussels, though). Beer would be the beverage to go with these dishes if one sticks to the Danish habits, but nice fresh wines (notably Alsatian) are available as well.

I am not sure the Tavern caters for a specific target public. In the neighborhood, that may change according to the time of the day. But since the place is a little (not dramatically) pricier than on the other side of the street, it seems to be visited by somewhat more mature people, at least on Sundays.

Service is friendly, no more, and not particularly rapid.

On each trip to Brussels we have enjoyed meals at the Copenhagen Tavern. This year was no exception. We find great value, great service and no matter what time of day, great meal options.
The portions can be large, so we vary our choices, to share between two.
This year we ate earlier in the day than we were used to, and had multiple coffees. The charging per cup was expensive - nothing wrong, just expensive. We should have stopped earlier for coffee and then headed to the Copenhagen Tavern for our treat.
All the same we highly recommend this restaurant, as good value in a shopping area full of expensive shops.
