Great surprises: first of all, the location is fantastic: just 100 meters from Grand Place, it is really the historical centre. The name "Mozart" is easy to remember and the connection with the musician is that his music can be heard at the reception hall at any time. The decoration is deliberately eccletic - Moorish-Andalusian style with Biedermeier furniture! The friendly owner, who originates from Morocco, will certainly tell you that he tried to recreate the atmosphere of Alhambra, which is partly true. He genuinely cares about your well-feeling, and the team is quite friendly - I assume it is mainly family-run. The guy of the night shift was not as competent as expected, but he was the only one among the team not to smile spontaneously.
Less pleasant surprises: while clean, the bathroom would be subject to improvements: the shower doors were not closing correctly, the sink was leaking unless you turned it off with two hands. The wonderful old wardrobe nearly fell apart when I opened it and there was dust on the shelves. Internet was supposed to work, but didn't actually.
All in all, you will enjoy the hotel provided you are aware that it is not a palace of 1001 nights. It is a funny mid-class hotel at a moderate price.
