“With great surprises and some less pleasant ones”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

Great surprises: first of all, the location is fantastic: just 100 meters from Grand Place, it is really the historical centre. The name "Mozart" is easy to remember and the connection with the musician is that his music can be heard at the reception hall at any time. The decoration is deliberately eccletic - Moorish-Andalusian style with Biedermeier furniture! The friendly owner, who originates from Morocco, will certainly tell you that he tried to recreate the atmosphere of Alhambra, which is partly true. He genuinely cares about your well-feeling, and the team is quite friendly - I assume it is mainly family-run. The guy of the night shift was not as competent as expected, but he was the only one among the team not to smile spontaneously.

Less pleasant surprises: while clean, the bathroom would be subject to improvements: the shower doors were not closing correctly, the sink was leaking unless you turned it off with two hands. The wonderful old wardrobe nearly fell apart when I opened it and there was dust on the shelves. Internet was supposed to work, but didn't actually.

All in all, you will enjoy the hotel provided you are aware that it is not a palace of 1001 nights. It is a funny mid-class hotel at a moderate price.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the courtyard side, as the hotel is located in a pedestrian-tourist area with rest...

If you are looking for a different stay this hotel is ideal, the decor is very beautiful, it is well located, everything is close, the train station, bars, restaurants and in spite of being small is comfortable, we were 3 in a room and we were comfortable and clean. I like very much and I recommend it.

When I ended up in Brussels for the night, I had no idea where to stay or what to do. I took the train from the airport to the Central Station and the Hotel Mozart was the first decent place I saw. I walked in, smelly and harried, to the nice man at the front desk. I asked if there was a room available, and how much, knowing this was a gamble. He not only had a room available, but was able to give me a discount and a double bed. The room was clean with enough space for all I had, and I enjoyed checking out the unique decorations. The bathroom was roomy and clean, with hair/body/hand soap, which I hadn't packed. I was 1 block from the Plaza, and able to quickly check in and then get food & souvenir recommendations for the rest of the night. I slept well, they phoned me exactly at 6am for my wakeup call, the shower in the morning had good water pressure, and breakfast was included. I would definitely recommend this as a reasonably priced, quirky, centrally-located hotel in Brussels and would happily stay there again!

The Mozart is located just off the Grand Place, the famous square in the centre of Brussels. It is close to the central train station and all major attractions in the old town. It is an intricate mix of buildings and narrow hallways, which makes it charming and quaint, just like the decorations, which are immensely overloaded. This is not for a minimalist, but delightfully different. It is fine for staying a short time in Brussels.

Room Tip: Don't bring lots of heavy luggage, as you have to carry it up and down stairs and through halls...

Great location, just 2 mins from Grand Place, all Manneken-Jeanneken-Zinneken pis are just minutes of walking. Lots of restaurants just steps out of hotel, as well as there is small shop on the right of hotel. Small breakfast, but what can you ask for such price? Free wi-fi. Rooms are small and haven't been renovated for long, also you can hear all behind the walls. My room 135 didn't have windows with street view (thanks God!) but I clearly heared the waterfall, good idea to switch it off for night. Generally good hotel for the price-location-free wi-fi, but if you don't stay long there.

During a trip to Brussels, I stayed a single night there. Interesting place. The front desk was cold but I was able to store my luggage before and after my official hours. Room was adequate. Best things: Its location just off the city hall square and the price. Worse things: No English or German TV channels and only bread and jam for breakfast.
