“Like staying with friends....”

Never having to been to Brussels we really didn't know what to expect...our introduction to this great city began at the airport where Sophie from the Brussels Welcome Hotel greeted us as planned. On our drive Sophie gave us lots of info about the area and we arrived to find our room (India) ready for us. Our 4 night stay with her and Michael was so comfortable, we felt we were among friends. We started each day with a more than ample breakfast to fuel us for sightseeing. We totally enjoyed being in a "neighborhood", away from the busy tourist areas. We always felt completely safe in and around the hotel. There were plenty of choices for dinner if you want to stay close bye, or walk the short distance to the Grand Place area. We would definitely recommend this fun and comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: We chose a delux room, wanting AC and a king size bed.

Stayed one night at this hotel after reading all the great reviews on here. I booked a deluxe room which the booking site claimed was 30m square but our room on the top floor was tiny with hardly any space round the bed. Yes it was quirky and the bathroom was very nice but I expected a much more spacious room. Worse than this though was the breakfast. There were flies in the grapefruit juice that came out of the machine. The girls on the desk said sorry then filled a glass themselves and said there were no flies in it, implying that it was therefore alright. We considered it to be contaminated. Also the hot food was only luke warm. We would never stay at this hotel again.

We were fortunate to have two night at this wonderful little pension hotel in a quieter area of Brussels with some good restaurants around it. The man at the desk was very friendly and knew everything about Belgium. He recommended some good restaurants and catered to your every need. The room was very interesting. There were closet doors against one wall and we knew that we had booked a bathroom but didnt realize that one of the closet doors was actually the entrance to the bathroom. It was a fun place. We would stay there again if we were able to get a reservation as I know this place is popular. Good breakfast to start your day and within walking distance to most sites.

Room Tip: Look on the website to choose the theme room that most appeals to you and see if you can reserve it.

We stayed here for 3 night few weeks before Christmas. We did fell in love with this hotel. There were two couples; we had Japan room and the other couple had Cuba room and we both liked our rooms a lot! Japan is on the top floor and there's a view over the roofs. It's nicely decorated. This room is a bit small but for us it didn't matter. Cuba was also nice.
The location is very good specially during December when the Christmas market is right in front of the hotel. It's also near the metro so it's easy to come to hotel from the airport. We didn't use metro that much because you can walk everywhere from the hotel. There's lot of restaurants near.

We were welcomed at reception by a bright, cheery girl who immediately produced a city map and highlighted all the tourist attractions and the cool places to visit, good restaurants etc, which proved to be really handy on our 3 day trip to Brussels! She gave us the Bali room, which had air con, a jacuzzi and our own balcony. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, quirky is the best word to describe it, but ever so slightly worn. Breakfast was lovely and varied, a good hot and cold buffet, held in the seated area beyond reception. Location was good, we had two great meals at Per Caso (gorgeous pizza) and Marie-Joseph (upmarket restaurant, beautiful food), which were both on the same square as the hotel. And it was only a short walk to Grand Place, which is a must see.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a room with air con!

We spent a night in this hotel in July 2012.
It was a pleasure from the moment we were greeted at the front counter until we left the following morning. The staff were exemplary, friendly, helpful, courteous and obviously enjoy what they do. We stayed in the China room which was delightful. The room was spacious, very clean, very comfortable. The attic area for my daughter was also delightful. The bathroom was very spacious and had all the little extras (shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer) which I was not expecting but very pleased as we were at the end of our trip and running low on supplies.
The breakfast in the morning had enough variety for me and everything was fresh. The dining area is small but very quaint. I would not hesitate at all to recommend this hotel to anyone. It was the definitely the nicest we stayed in on this 10 day holiday.

Now all we need to make it the perfect hotel is the 'Australia' room!!!

Due to my error, I booked a room (using an indirect travel site) for 3 nights one week LATER than the actual dates we planned to stay there. This was politely pointed out by Marc at the front desk, who refreshingly stated that "there are not problems....only solutions". We were allowed to stay in our room (Zanzibar) at the purchased rate for two nights, then assessed only a slight nominal charge to stay in a much nicer room the third night. We really enjoyed the hotel and its location. Thanks to the Welcome Hotel for a great experience!

Room Tip: The sun comes up early in northern Europe in the summer months....eyeshades would be a good bet. Al...
