“Great location . . . Nice accommodation”
Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

We had a standard room on the 5th floor of the new section. This section only has elevator service to the 4th floor so be aware if mobility is an issue. Room (only two on this floor) was spacious with skylights opening for air. It has a good size bath but no shower, only the handheld variant. Great thing is short 200 meter walk from the Central Station and similar distance to the The Grand Place. It is also nearby to the restaurants near St. Catherine's. In lieu of breakfast in the hotel I highly recommend taking short walk (50 meters) to the Galerie Hubert and Le Pain Quotidien restaurant / bakery.

This hotel could not be in a better location. It is a very short walk from Central Station (which you can use to get to the airport or many other cities in Belgium)...it is very close if you take the exit that goes through the park. I would recommend this hotel based on the ease of transportation and how close you are to the main attractions. At the same time the area is EXTREMELY touristy and a bit trashy because of it. Our room was in the "modern" section...though nothing about it was modern so that is an odd phrasing to use. The room was clean and a very nice size. The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom had a hand held shower which would not be my first choice for easy showering. Also if you choose to have the windows open you get a lot of noise from the outdoors (and we were on the very top floor), but I felt with the windows close it was not as noticeable so not a huge problem just a surprise. The reception area in the hotel is very nice but I felt like the "modern" building was not as well cared for; for instance the "railing" for the steps to the room was falling down-which seems a bit unsafe given the steepness of the steps. Overall, good hotel, great location and has a bit more character than some of the other "chain" hotels in the same area.

This hotel has a perfect location only minutes away from the Grand Place, Galeries St Hubert and the train station. We stayed in a Superior suite (Jordaens) in the old part of the building, facing the church "de la Madeleine". The room is huge and has lots of charm with it four poster bed and the old furniture. The staff is very nice and friendly. When we said that the room was cold and the heating not functioning, they immediately brought two portable electric heaters.

However, for what you pay you would expect (1) a better bedding with a more recent mattress, ours was a bit worn-out and not very comfortable, (2) a larger and more modern bathroom, ours has a "simple" bath with no separate shower and everything needs to be refurbished (paintings, plumbing etc), (3) a better breakfast, ours (in room) was very simple/basic and not cheap.

We had a beautiful room that had lovely furnishings, quiet and well located. Lovely reception area as well. Would recommend this anytime. Cordial staff. Other guests enjoyed their rooms as well. Le dixseptieme refers to the seventeenth century historic atmosphere but the comfort is super and modern.

My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids ages 8 and 10) stayed in the Dixseptieme hotel in August 2013.

First, the Hotel is literally within walking distance of the train station - it took us two minutes to walk to it (though we were lucky to find the right exit out of the train station without searching). We were warmly greeted when we reached the hotel and taken up to our room (all rooms are named after an artist). Our room was lovely - a large living room with a pull out sofa bed, a kitchenette, and a bedroom. The rooms were tastefully decorated. I forgot the name of our room (but think it was the Memling though I could be wrong). The front desk provided helpful tips on where to eat and where to go. We didn't use the restaurant suggestions though.

The hotel is literally in the city center - just 1-2 minutes walk to Le Grand Place and just a few minutes more to most of the major attractions in the City Center.

We did not have breakfast at the hotel - too expensive. It was easier to walk over to the Le Gaufre de Bruxelles which provided inexpensive (and excellent) breakfast waffles.

Highly recommended.

For convenience to the Brussels Central Train Station or the Brussels Grand Place, along with all the touristy things to do and see in central Brussels, stay at Le Dixseptieme. A tad pricy, for this hotel is a wonderful place to stay away from the cookie-cutter type hotels. Beautifully appointed, gracious reception (the gentleman at the front desk even carried my 3 bags to my room), immaculate from the common areas to the room bathroom. I stayed there last night on the ground floor near the entrance door & elevator in the modern section & couldn't have asked for a quieter room. Bath is well stocked, has a mini-bar & even a safe to store valuables. I did a bit of shopping, so returning to the hotel with my purchases before heading off for dinner was very convenient. Highly recommend

Walked out of the Central station and we arrived at our hotel within minutes! Great location to walk to the nearby Grand Place and all over central Brussels. Our room, in the modern section, was very well thought out. You could easily stay here a long time if needed. We did not take the breakfast since it was very high priced; there are many options to eat nearby. This is a lovely small hotel in a good spot for visiting Brussels.

Room Tip: Some reviewers have said the modern rooms are not so great but ours was spacious, well laid out and...
