Yes, you can feel and see the European Union, selling itself to its people. Well done.
Worth a visit albeit I left with the feeling that this huge political construct has become too big and therefore too bureaucratic and as such has no future.

“Interactive & fascinating”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

Group of friends visited during Saturday night opening of Brussels museums. First time, highly recommend. Self-guided audio/visual tours at your own pace in your language of choice. Overflows with history of European Union from creation to present. Very interactive, modern, clean, personnel just superb, enthusiastic, helpful ! Self-service cafeteria, newspapers reading area - all EU language dailies. Many short enough films which were well done and very interesting and informative. Even rolling robots you can position all over a floor map of Europe and participate in presentations. Nice gift shop.

Easy to get to on the Metro. Well worth a visit and it's free to enter.
Take advantage of the free interactive audio guide and this will tell you all you need to know about the inception and history of the EU and European Parliament.
A very interesting couple of hours.

“A place that knows how to put the words "Fun" and "Education" in the same sentence!!”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We were in Brussels for a long weekend and had planned to visit the Parlamentarium while we were there. Being stuck for something to do on the Sunday morning (as everywhere else appeared to be closed) we decided to go to then, hoping it would be open.

We wandered around and kind of stumbled upon it as it is not very well signposted. We arrived a little after 10am, so it had just opened for the day. We were provided with a locker to stow our belongings and coats, which was very useful as we were there quite sometime.

First off, we went to the café for a spot of breakfast. It was clean, basic and we were the only people there apart from the the serving staff. We only got a light bite and a juice each, but it was all very good (the chocolate muffins were yummy!!). The café is located downstairs to the lobby.

We then began our tour. From the very beginning, the "museum" is fun and interesting. An audio guide is provided in your selected language and it is extremely informative, you are each provided with an audio wand, which means that you can go at your own pace. It is clear that a great deal of money has been spent on this museum and it is well worth it. It is extremely interactive and there is so much to see and do; from short films to watch, to comfy sofas with touchscreen interactive televisions, to games to play, not to mention the timeline, which is very interesting to walk along!!

It was a really enjoyable morning here. You need to set aside at least two to three hours for this attraction as there is just so much to fit in. It is good for all age groups, apart from very young children and it caters for 23 languages. Best of all, admission is completely free, photography is allowed and its open seven days a week!!

The website is very helpful and is worth checking out for opening times, etc (we found this out after we had visited!!): www.europarl.europa.eu.

“Very much enjoyed by us all, young and old alike”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Within easy walking distance of the centre of the City, we went for a look around this exhibition.

Free to enter, the museum provides a fascinating insight into the European Union, it's history, operation, problems, benefits, and to what the EU does for the the peoples of Europe.

As mentioned elsewhere, it is very pro-European, as you might expect. However, it is an absolutely fascinating look at life in post-war Europe, including how and why the EU and it's various antecedents came into being.

A very interactive exhibition - the European parliament presentation is a particularly stunning part of the whole experience.

As a free exhibition, this comes highly recommended during your stay in Brussels.
