Small and unique atmosphere, spectacular coffee. The passion fruit cake is definitely worth trying! Can be tough to get a table, though.

It is very a small café. It is dfficult to get a table but there you will drink and enjoy a real coffee and not something that is called "coffee".
If you are a coffee lover and you are in town then this is your place to be.

Spent a few days in Brussels a couple of weekends ago and found Aksum on tripadvisor. Coffee was amazing and the cakes to die for and I'm not even a cake eater. Went there all three days. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever in Brussels. Staff were lovely too

A boutique coffee house in the best sense of the term - original, atmospheric and with a sense of belonging. A really good start on a Brussels stay. Breakfast was 1 semi-soft boiled egg on toast with Egyptian spice, which is a light diet choice for those not used to heavy Belgian breakfasts. The service was personal and very friendly. But don't go there for the coffee, which is made to Belgian taste - i.e. they scold the coffee at too high a temperature which kills the flavours and aroma of the coffee, in which case it really doesn't matter much which roast you use. It also makes the froth on a cappuccino less creamy. Perhaps they are better at other coffee styles, though.

Lovely coffee place not located in a too crowded/trendy area. A place where non hipster looking folks can gather without bringing their macbooks (please don't come - ;)). Tried the hot choco, some coffee, cakes, ... and wasn't disappointed at all. Need to go there more often for a better opinion of the place and bring new customers.

Nice fresco outside, friendly staff. No complain.
