My husband and Iate there along with two friends. We had a seafood platter some water and one beer. The waiters were fussing around us alot during the meal - then came time to pay - we were slapped with a bill for Euro393 - -prices totally different to those listed on the menu - we really could'nt believe it- then to add insult to injury they demanded 20% tip on top of that bill. Well, we didn't have that much cash on us so we had to break out the credit card - bizzarely first my husbands credit card would'nt work on their machine, then our friends didn't work, then mine didn't work - we kept suggesting to them that something was wrong with their machine but they had us try a couple of times - finally they brought out a new machine which then worked. Today, aside from feeling really angry that we were scammed with the bill in this restaurant we are now also left wondering of the frightening possbility that our credit cards may have been tampered with. Now its the weekend banks are closed and we can nothing till Monday or till we return to our own country. Stay away from this terrible place - utter crooks and downright criminal to rip us off the way they did.

“Dine there at your own peril”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Same opening lines as mentioned by other victims, best table for you, complimentary drinks on the house ........Handed you menu with no price. The bill was more than two to three times expected from other restaurants. Waiters demanded big tips but you were not served anything extra. You probably would worry about your own safety if you didn't pay the surcharge!! Mobile credit card terminal that claimed not working after your credit card was read?!!! Worst Brussels experience!

“Scam, complete tourist scam - no prices marked on menu”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

Exactly what the other reviews said. $39 Euros per person for a shared meat plate which was chewy, not very good and dodgy as hell. A dinner which would have been a rip off at 39Euro's was almost $180 Canadian dollars when all said and done. Avoid this place....frankly avoid this whole alley of restaurants, right off the Grand Place square....seems like a the whole thing is a semi-mafia/ ganster run tourist fleeze...

“Scammers”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

Normally we always check tripadvisors reviews on restaurants before we eat there. On this day we were unable to check as we had been without wifi and had just arrived in Belgium. We were looking forwards to try the supposedly famous great food in Belgium. Tired from a day of travelling, when told by man hustling at the door about the great food inside, we thought what the hell,it looks nice enough, lets eat here. Big mistake!!! This restaurant has no interest in providing good food or service, only ripping unsuspecting tourist off. They offer share plates, but the price is not for meal like every other restaurant in the world, but per person. They never say this and it's not written anywhere . The food is just slapped together my some con artist, ours was un edible. But like I said there is no interest in providing good food here, it's all about the scam. You would get a much more enjoyable meal at Burger King or some other fast food place. Here we paid 5 star prices for rubbish. Just lucky that we didn't get food poisoning. The authority's for food and tourism in Belgium should do more to stamp out operators like this. It's amazing they can do business in the heart of a European city. Avoid this place!!!

“Good food in great location beside Grand Place (Grote Markt)”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Too much hater here, hater is gonna hate i know! But it's not being fair to the restaurant!!
I usually read the comments here in Tripadvisor only, never make any comment myself. But this time i have to say something!
This restaurant just right beside the most popular sightseeing point Grand Place (Grote Markt) in Brussels. It takes less than a min walk from there, if you take the outdoor seat still able to see the Grand Place.
I had my dinner in this restaurant on 31st Aug at late evening. Nice atmosphere, excellent service & lovely food! They did try hard to attract me to go to their restaurant, but which tourist place don't do that tho...as my past experience in Lisbon Lol surrounded by more than 30 restaurants. Anyway, they recommended the beef flamande to me. It comes with french fires and some salad. The beef is really tender and very delicious.
About the overcharging issue that most people mentioned here, it didn't happen to me. They even gave me free coke as promised and free bread before meal. I wonder why no-one talk about the free bread here?! Does everyone think it suppose to be free?? Well~ it's not in Paris Lol
