Stopped over in Brussels on way to Paris. Had the Liege waffle with chocolate - so good and rich. Had to stand at counter space because tea room doesn't open until 11am. Wasn't too crowded. I know the reviews are mixed, but our waffles lived up to our expectations and were warm and well prepared with good service.

Waffles were fantastic. I got mine with chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The only downside was there is little space to eat, but worth the minimal wait that we had.

This place, service and food didn't meet my expectations. Went there after reading a lot of great reviews ( on trip advisor). I am really disappointed as waffles tasted worse than on the Xmas market or other places in Brussels. They where dry and cold. Nothing special at all. Not worth it to pay aprox €5.00 each.

On two occasions we waited 45+ minutes for our orders to arrive. That was was in addition to us complaining and receiving the wrong drinks. You'll wait just as long for the bill to arrive. Unfortunately this seems to be a running theme in Brussels. Everywhere was chronically understaffed.

When the food arrived it was great but I can't say it was worth the wait. I mean, at the end of the day it's a waffle.

We had heard that Maison Dandoy had the best waffles in Brussels, so went to check it out for breakfast. We went on a Sunday and arrived right at 10:30AM when it was supposed to open (according to the business Facebook page), but when we got there it turned out that only the downstairs shop opened at 10:30 and the upstairs café wasn’t open until 11AM (would have been nice for this to be stated on the Facebook page or website).

The café definitely has delicious waffles – no doubt about that! We opted for the Liege waffles, which were incredible (but also rather expensive). The waffles came loaded with toppings. Unfortunately, the service was extremely poor. It took a long time for our server to take our order, and then he messed up the drink orders. Once we corrected the order (he had missed my husband’s regular coffee), it took about 15 minutes (after our waffles arrived) for him to finally bring the coffee – and then it ended up being a latte instead. I’m not sure that I would recommend visiting Maison Dandoy – although the food is great, it unfortunately doesn’t make up for the poor service.
