Description: This newly opened restaurant on Avenue Louise in Brussels fills a gap in the culinary offerings of the Louise area. Chao Phraya serves EXCELLENT Thai food in a beautiful setting. There is a buffet on the 1st floor and a la carte service on the ground floor. Worth a visit !!

The food quality is quite high. The service is good but the weitress really impolite. The interiors design is very cool. The price was proportionate but...7€for a bottle of water...!

We went to this restaurant for dinner. The ambience was nice. Decorations not distinctively Asian, but classy. We did not have reservations, but were accommodated. It was a small table against the wall, separated by string curtains from the next table. Therefore, I would highly recommend to make a reservation for better space.

We ordered tom yam kung, chicken green curry, and fried rice. The orders take a long time to arrive and they don't serve chips or any other appetizers so make sure you're not too hungry. Tom yam was less than average. To be fair, it doesn't have the strange sweet flavour you find in other thai restos in Brussels. However, they were not generous with the ingredients so the soup tasted overwhelmingly of fish sauce only. It was also served just warm instead of hot. On the upside, the shrimps seemed fresh, not frozen.

We didn't expect much after the disappointing soup, but were pleasantly surprised with our mains. Well, the staff served us a wrong dish, 1 green curry and 1 red curry (both chicken), missing the fried rice altogether. We pointed this out and they were ready to exchange the dishes, but fearing it would take another 30 minutes, we opted to just retain the red curry. The jasmine rice serving was generous. The red curry was good, but the green curry even better. It had an authentic flavour and was moderately spicy--something not too common when tastes are adapted to the locality. The servings for the main dishes were also considerably more generous compared to the soup. Overall, it was a great dinner. The green curry more than compensated for the slowness of service, mistake in order, and disappointing soup.

There are many Thai restaurants in Brussels, many of which in my neighbourhood, but this one looks somewhat different as the decoration is resolutely on the modern side, more like a lounge bar, which is nice.
The food was quite good, and people friendly, but service sometimes felt a bit discombobulated, which nearly drove one of my dinner companions to distraction. I decided to kick back and enjoy the food and the company though.
The bill was what I have come to expect from a mid-range restaurant in Brussels, especially when one orders an apéritif, wine and tea or coffee, ie, around € 50 pp. Maybe a wee too expensive for a Thai that is not The Blue Elephant.
Still, it did the trick. But, please, get the service act together.

Food and service is great. Did not have to wait for a table. The decor is outstanding, elegance, minimalistic and modern. The outdoor sun terrace is very nice for lunch. The prices are excellent. Going back soon
