This hotel boasts lovely decor in the public areas but in the room we stayed in (Traditional Room, list price 495euros per night), the decor was only okay considering the price. The carpet was very badly worn (patched under the bed) and there was damp patches on the wall in some areas in the vestibule. The bathroom was lovely, roomy with adequate shower and bath, very large pedestal sink and fast flowing water. There were nice toiletries provided as well as ample fluffy white towels.

The main standout with the accommodations was how clean it was but let down by little touches that could have been easily rectified.

The twin beds were pushed together to make the king size we requested, however, kept splitting apart in the night, ending with my husband on the floor which we thought funny at the time but that said it was our wedding anniversary and slumbering in the same bed would have been quite nice.

The welcome from the staff was fairly enthusiastic and they were pleasant throughout our two night stay. We did not indulge in breakfast, dinners, room service or any extra services at all due to the prohibitive prices. Breakfast was 30euros each, a cup of coffee from room service was 5euros (or 1.80 over the road at McDonalds) and there were no coffee/tea making facilities in the room so you kind of had no choice but to venture out (MCDonalds open very late on a Sunday so don't expect an early morning coffee to be available).

I probably wouldn't stay here again as the price of things like breakfast really put me off as well as the fact the hotel was not particularly central for what we wanted to see. If shopping malls are what you want then this location is ideal but if old Brussels is more your thing along with bars and nightlife, then choose somewhere else.

It's worth mentioning that there are a few sex shops and strip clubs right across the road - weird to see these sorts of things within wolf whistling distance of a 5 star hotel but hey ho maybe I'm old-fashioned!

This is the best hotel I've stayed at in Brussels, beautiful decor, huge comfortable rooms, convenient location, 15 minute walk away from the old city and 5 minutes from a metro, good breakfast, friendly staff. I've stayed a few times and always the same standard.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the older rooms for more space and luxury.

Splendid foyer and bar area, large comfortable and quiet rooms, helpful and pleasant staff, magnificent breakfast, convenient location. Situated near the red light district, but don't let that worry you, it wasn't seedy or dangerous. Very near Rogier tube station if you're arriving by Eurostar, only 5 stops away. 15 minute walk to the main square and other sights. We were late rising one morning and should have missed breakfast, but the hotel staff kindly allowed us to go in late, with no pressure to finish quickly. You wouldn't want to miss this buffet breakfast, choice of almost anything you could want, including plentiful coffee.

We did not pay a lot for this five star hotel, but we got great value for what we actually paid. The hotel lobby is decorated in a grand oldfashion style with charm. Our room was modern and not so oldfashion, with a flat screen tv and a good variety of channels. You have everything you need in your room, and that it has a minibar, flat screen tv and good wifi connection is a plus!

We chose the hotel based on location and the wifi + a good price for five stars. We have had a lot of less good experiences in the past with three stars hotels other places in Europe so we wanted to make sure this was a good one.

It is located right next to Rue Neuve, which is the shopping street in Brussels. This is where the mainstream stores like h&m, zara etc is located. There is also a huge shopping center called city 2, and there is a sports direct store, and a huge grocery store there. But Brussels is not THE place to go shopping in my opinon. The rest of the neighborhood is ok, a lot of kebab shops, Mc Donalds right across the street, kiosk etc. Be aware that there is a hospital nearby, so there are a lot of ambulances with the sirens driving by. This is not a huge problem though, but as our room was towards the street we did hear it quite well.

Walking distance to Grand Place etc. We took about 10-15 minutes to walk to Grand Place. The Metro is also supereasy to use, buy the Brusselscard for 24 or 48 hours for sightseeing (can be bought at the tourist office at Grand Place). It gives you access to a lot of museums and all public transport. We took the metro for visiting Atomium, Autoshow, War history museum etc. Rogier is the nearest metro stop to the hotel.

A tip for everyone travelling to Brussels landing at Charleroi airport. We had planned to take the bus connected to Ryanair fligths from and to the airport. But the ticket system is a hastle and also the bus is very crowded. We discovered that a lot of the minivans/maxi taxis located outside the airport offer a ride to Brussels for the same price as the bus if you are 8 persons. We were only two, but were approached by other travelleres to take a taxi together. Also the taxi driver find others to fill up the taxi. When we were travelling back to the airport we did the same thing at the same place as the bus leaves from. The taxi driver fixes everything. So much more comfortable ride and it goes a lot faster than taking the bus. I would imagine that this depends on what time of the day you arrive and number of passengers/flights at that time, but it is worth checking out at your arrival/departure!

Enjoy Brussels and make sure to eat a lot of belgian waffles, you find them everywhere!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view, even though you hear som noise from the street I would imagine it is bet...

This was a very nice hotel near the city center, centrally located, with all the amenities. I would easily recommend staying here again. The service is good and the hotel is clean. I will say however that not all the rooms have A/C as they advertise. My room even though I booked a room with A/C did not have it. So I would call them and ask for it in advance. Additionally, the hotel is a bit dated. Although grand in its appearance inside, the room maintenance could be a bit better and the rooms could be modernized slightly. It did feel like it had seen better days. Though, without question I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room with A/C as they don't all have it.

My Husband and I stayed at Le Plaza for a week in April and found this hotel to be spacious, comfortable and very clean. Our room was massive the bed was very comfortable. We had our own hallway which was perfect for dumping shoes after a long day walking.

We both loved the interior, It's elegant tasteful decoration, the bar and reception areas were very pleasent to sit in and relax.

I was shocked at how much the Mini Bar was possibly the most expensive Mini bar todate. However it was big enough to fit some of your own drinks in so when you came in you had something cold to drink.

The only thing missing was airconditioning as the rroms were very hot and with the windows open at night there was a lot of noise. Mainly from what appeared to be a flat above the shops across the road which seemed to like shouting in the street at 4am.

We went in the sex shops to have a nose about, didn't buy anything but they didn't feel at all seedy, as I would imagine. So didn't really take anything away from the Hotel and where it is placed.

Room Tip: Ask to be rear facing as the street outside seems to be alive all night
