My husband and I decided to spend a few nights in Brussels during a connection back home from Nepal on our honeymoon. We were completely blown away at how nice and modern and sumptuous this B&B was. The bathroom was so so so awesome and we were so incredibly grateful for the large tub which we took full advantage of, as we were not used to Western amenities during our honeymoon adventure to Everest Base Camp the two weeks previous before our stay here. Bedding and bed - so comfortable and luxurious! I could not have wanted more in the actual room!

The breakfasts were delicious and our hostess was quite gracious and gave us dinner, entertainment and sightseeing recommendations. She even packed us a lunchbag the morning of our flight home, which was very sweet.

The location is great if you are going to be doing a lot of sightseeing on foot, and is accessible to the trains. Overall, we were very happy that we stayed here and gave us a nice welcome back at the end of our honeymoon trip. We would definitely stay here again!!

From Everest Base Camp , Nepal to X2Brussels, Belgium … WoW… I guess the level of adrenaline and landscapes were quite not the same but I am truly glad you could simply relax and enjoy your stay with us as a special treat after such a spectacular honeymoon. We hope you had a safe trip back home, with the minds full of great memories of Nepal AND Brussels ;) all the best, Xavier

We stayed for one night at X2 Brussels at the beginning of July 2013 & it was a perfect choice.
We had been travelling around Europe & Brussels was our last stop before heading back to the UK & it was lovely place in which to spend our last night.
Close to Brussels Midi station (€8 by cab) & a short (5mins) walk to Mannequin Pis & the Grand Place but in a quiet street - an ideal location.
This is a private B&B - containing 3 huge onsuite rooms - one on each floor - with a large comfortable bed, plenty of room, good flat screen TV, a huge bathroom (please note bedroom on first floor has bath & hand held shower only). All done out to very high modern standards - of a quality we have found in 5* hotels.
We stayed in the 1st floor room & the lack of shower was no problem as the hand held worked fine - & we didn't make any mess as the bath was so huge.
Breakfast is excellent - served in a room on the ground floor by Xavier & his mother (the owners) - it was personalised, with great choice & freshly made - great service.
They offered great advice on where to go, what to see & especially good restaurants & favourite shops.
Finally they happily stored our luggage for us & called us a cab to the station.
It was also a much better price than most hotels in Brussels.
We would return again - no problem.

Room Tip: There is no lift - so if you don't want to climb stairs - ask for the room on the first floor...

X2Brussels's Tripadvisor rating is well placed. It is definitely the place to stay in Brussels. Conveniently located and is just a few minutes walk to the tourist sights in Brussels. My husband and I together with our teenage son stayed only for one night enroute to another country but we were very pleased with the hospitality of Xavier and his mom, Monique. Xavier was very good and quick in responding to emails. The B&B is very modern, spotlessly clean and had a minimalist feel to it that suited our needs. Breakfast was great and Monique prepares eggs on request. Thank you Xavier and Monique, it was a pleasure staying at your place even for just one night!

I think tripadvisor should have 1-10 rating system, since not all places you rate as 5 are the same class at all. It is only comparable within one city/resort.
Anyway after mingling with crowds in touristic sites and shops with sales starting in Brussels, it was nice to have a hideaway to return to. Location is close to city centre, quiet, but I cannot say that the neighborhood seamed perfectly safe. We stayed only one night and everything was correct, top floor room was big and airy (those four flight of stairs definitely not for ones with big bags, though). Owner helped us with parking the cars, made nice breakfast, let us use her printer for plane tickets etc. Good value for money.

Thank you very much for leaving a comment on your stay with us. We are glad to hear that we could meet your needs and queries even if, as you point out, we are definitely not comparable to a 5* resort hotel with swimming pool ;-)

As X2Brussels is hosted in a typical high Brussels house, there is no lift and the flight of stairs, especially to the 3rd floor are not “suitcase-friendly”, however I am always happy to help, do some sport and carry all luggage upstairs every time I am in the house. I admit though that I forbid my mum to do that although she would be ready to…

Our direct neighbourhood to the city centre is indeed quiet and usually safe, however as in every big city, one can never guarantee that nothing will happen. My mother and I at least never experienced any problem since we have opened the Bed and Breakfast. What we though always advise is to be careful when coming from/going back to the South station and its surroundings, this is the reason why we prefer providing our own practical information and instructions how to reach the B&B from there. We wish you plenty of future nice trips!

Best wishes, Xavier

This hotel was a highlight of our 2 week stay in Europe. The rooms are super spacious, the street is quiet and quaint and centrally located. The breakfast was SUPER! So much food. This seemed like a small 5 star hotel. Only three rooms. We got the room with the tub. The tile in the bathroom was beautiful! Hardwood floors throughout. Do not walk from the train station. Xavier, the owner will give you directions prior to your arrival. He was the only hotel owner that contacted us prior to our arrival to make sure we had all needed information and if we had any questions about the city. Very special attention given to us at every turn. Can't say enough about the hotel. You won't regret it. That's probably why they can't seem to be bumped from their number one spot! Fanny attended us while we were there and she was WONDERFUL!

Room Tip: Choose any of the rooms. We enjoyed the room with the tub.

Thank you so much for this great review and recommendation. It is great that you felt well attended and informed before and during your stay. Your feedback is so rewarding, I am glad to read that directions we provide truly help our guests find their ways to our B&B through the ‘good’ streets. We are really proud to be your top choice around Europe … so far ;-) “A small 5 stars hotel”, that’s raising the bar high but thanks for the comparison. Fanny asked me to add that it was equally great to welcome you as you were such WONDERDUL guests. Best wishes, Xavier

I chose this B&B because of the other great reviews on here and we weren't disappointed. The omens were good from the start as Xavier was friendly and helpful over emails. On our arrival we got a taxi from Midi Station because I didnt want to cart my case about but we could have walked.
The house is in a very quiet street but only 5 mins walk from the Manneken Pis and Grand Place. We found it an ideal base to explore and we could get to most places on foot.
Our room was huge and spotlessly clean. The decor very modern and there is wifi available.
Xavier sat us down with a large street map and highlighted all the places we wanted to see as well as recommendations of his own for various eateries. This proved invaluable and a really nice touch.
Breakfast is served til 10am but Xavier is flexible as I found out - I made a mistake with timings on the first morning and there was no fuss - we were simply accommodated.
I felt that nothing was too much trouble for Xavier and his equally charming girlfriend. I would definitely stay here again and woudl urge others to do so if wanting a central B&B.

Room Tip: If you have reduced mobility better to stay on the lower floors.

Hi Anita, thank you so much for your kind review. We are really happy you had a good time here in Brussels and that our tips and advice could a little bit contribute to this experience. Another must for next time you come to Brussels : visit the Waterloo battlefield with your son… although that one is not at walking distance from X2Brussels ;) Best wishes to you two, Xavier

Tucked away in a small quiet street, X2Brussels B&B is an absolute find. The owner Xavier and his mother are charming and helpful. Our room was enormous, with a large and super comfortable bed and a similarly generous bathroom with tub. In the middle of one of the coldest springs in years, the heating was on to keep us warm. With absolutely no street noise, we slept like babies. Breakfast was excellent and included freshly squeezed orange juice, quality fresh breads and jams, ham, cheese and even eggs if we wanted them. It took us less then ten minutes to stroll up to Grand'Place and about half an hour to walk to the art gallery and the lovely park behind it. We caught a taxi from Brussels Midi station but it's a walkable distance provided bags are manageable. The only warning is that there are steep flights of stairs, but Xavier is happy to help with bags. I wouldn't bother looking any further for great accommodation in Brussels.

Thank you so much for your taking the time to write this review. We are truly glad to read that you could enjoy your stay with undisturbed sleep after walking and visiting Brussels all day. Our flights of stairs are indeed not very engaging luggage-wise but I am happy to help anytime when I am the lucky one welcoming guests and when my mother does, we have always found so far suitable solutions. Thanks again and take care, Xavier
