Situated in the Van Praet street you have several Thai restaurants to pick from. Fanny is a bit more stylish and seems more busy. The food was good, great curry's!! Staff is really nice. Our main dish took a bit longer than we liked, but can be expected in a crowded place like this.

I had lunch at fanny thai, ordered som-tam (papaya salad) and ginger chicken. This wast the best som-tam i ever had outside of thailand and the chicken was real good too. Nice and friendly service, free wifi. Not the cheapest, but definitively good value for the money.

We were 8 people who were looking for a nice little place to eat (not easy with so many and different interests). The first part of the weekend we ended up in typical tourist places. Fanny is located in a narrow street with little traffic and in a "happening" area just by The Marriott where we lived. we went there earlier in the day and ordered a table outside for 8 (4 smokers). 4 people ordered three different soups to start with, great taste! Although being to hot for one of us (this should have been expressed more clearly from the staff, people have different tolerance levels). Some of us also had dumplings and spring rolls before the main courses, and were very happy with our choice. The 8 uf us all praised the different main courses and half of us had almost no exprience with thai and not that high tolerance for hot food. It was simply just good food!

We have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant, waiters are unfriendly and rude. I will never go back

So, went there recently as it had been highly recommended. A nice feel about the place: good ambience and atmosphere. Given the menu and it had a wide range of what was Thai and also, I think, Vietnamese dishes. I was tempted to have a Tom Thit (true!) but opted for a Fanny instead. Both are names on the menu and I have a photograph to prove it! The Fanny was a selection of many separate dishes. A delicious soup to start then lots of other lovely food: spring rolls, dips, chicken, prawn and duck and beef all with a generous portion of boiled rice. One note of caution, however. On receiving the bill, we had been charged for two bottles of water (six Euros) when we'd had only one. They removed the extra charge without difficulty but I was a little irritated and wondered how often this little 'mistake' is made. As ever in Belgium, do try the very strong beers 7-8 ABV which washes a good 'Ruby' down with aplomb. And 'Ruby' is rhyming slang which is mentioned elsewhere in this review. And in case you don't know, a Ruby is a curry after a singer we never knew called Ruby Murray!
