The Villa Empain has opened its doors to the public in spring 2010. It was built as a private home by a young and very rich man who however never lived there. The dimensions of the villa are quite spacious which makes it an ideal setting for exhibitions hosted by the Boghossian Foundation being the owner of the building.
The complete structure of the house with its exquisite interior (marble, polished granite, fine wood, wrought iron) has been restored to its former splendour. Some fittings like the cute little bar area have remained. To get a first impression of the beautiful art deco style you will find a number of pictures on the homepage of Villa Empain.
Villa Empain is located in the outskirts of Brussels amidst many embassy buildings. It is best to be reached by car. The villa is closed on Mondays and the entrance fee is 10 EUR.
The rear part of the villa - where you can park your car - is just across a large and nice park where you can go for a walk or sit by a lake. Just left from the front facade of the villa across the street you will find a beautiful art nouveau building (wich is used as office space).
