We (3 adults and a ten year old) stayed here 1 night in July 2012 on our way to Rotterdam. The hotel is a bit difficult to find as it's part of an older building, but it is only a 10 minute walk to the Central train station, even with luggage and on cobblestone streets. The hotel is literally 25 yards from the Central Square - making it convenient to many restaurants, chocolate shops, and open and closed in shopping areas.
We rented the 2 BR unit via Booking.com. The description was accurate. The flat was located on the 1st floor next to the office. It was extremely large with a bedroom (1 large bed) near the bathroom a separate bedroom in the loft with two twin beds. The living area had a sofa and loveseat, television, vcr, coffee table and a dining table with four chairs. There's also a sliding door with private access to a nice outdoor patio - excellent for those who smoke as you didn't have to leave the hotel room, just step outside. There's even chairs and a table on the patio. The kitchen had a refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, hot water heater, microwave, and sink as well as dishes/glasses/flatware.And the unit was VERY clean with nice comfy beds. Internet access is included and worked without issue.
The toilet is in a separate room from the shower/tub/sink. Very nice and convenient.
The office manager was so friendly; we arrived early and she allowed us to store our luggage in her office until the room was ready. She also made good suggestions relative to places to eat and gave good directions. She spoke excellent English. The sliding door was off track and she promptly called maintenance to come repair - still needed work but was no fault of theirs. The unit had A/C but with the patio door and windows open, the rooms were very comfortable. We also didn't experience any issues with bugs/mosquitos, even with the windows open without screens - my 10 year old daughter was amazed.
The only issue is that the first part of the stairs going up to the loft does not have a handrail - perhaps 5 stairs. Just in case someone has mobility issues.
We would definitely stay here again - this is THE largest European hotel room I've ever stayed in - for 175 Euros which worked out to be $225 USD by the time you add in the credit card fees, we felt this was a good value. No need for a taxi, affordable restaurants within a 3 minute walk, and the beautiful Grand Place at our door? And a nice staff? Highly recommend this place.
