“Moules avec les frites”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

I was been very hungry before ate in this wonderful restaurant, but at the end of the meal, I was totally satisfied.
One advice, Lunch Moules Menù, is enough for two people, but it seems that is not possible to order only one portion.

“Le Zinneke”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

I was taken to Le Zinneke by a local on a recent trip to Brussels to show me a real Belgian mussels restaurant off the tourist trail. When you arrive you are given a pile of Belgian comic books along with your menus to read which is a nice touch. The menu did not disappoint, there were 69 varieties of mussels to choose from, or rather methods of preparing the mussels. We all got different types and all were enjoyed. The restaurant was quiet and homely feeling and the staff were friendly, patiently helping us with our attempts to speak French! The best part for me was the traditional Belgian fries with mayonnaise. Recommended.

“good food but out of the tourist location”
Reviewed November 29, 2012 via mobile

place was out of the tourist circle, must book in advanced and take taxi. service was ok and coming from NYC, i was not impressed but would give it a above average. however, 69 different ways to prep was pretty creative.

“Outstanding mussels, great atmosphere”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

I have been eating mussels in a number of places in France and Belgium (and elsewhere, for the record), yet Zinneke beats them all. Excellent (and numerous) preparations, good wines, very pleasant atmosphere and a location off tourist track, so no random tourists - just locals and a few informed foreigners. A real gem of a place. Reservations are strongly recommended, walk-ins were not able to grab a table during my visit on a Saturday night.

“When you're from Brussels, you have to know this!!”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

A nice place to eat especially mussels. But also real authentic grandmother's recipes from Brussels as there are 'stoemp', 'Brusselse kiekskes' ... are served with a great pleasure!!
You can eat in a great atmosphere, you feel at home! If you want to go, reservation is recommended and you need the time... It's a place for slow food and enjoying life... just a mentality of the real Brussels! It's my favorite!!
