We went to this restaurant based on very positive reviews on Tripadvisor and other websites. Romantic, "French", atmosphere. Professional waiter. We had the snails and carpaiccio as starter. Both were very tastefull. As main we had the duck and risotto with shell fish. The duck was very tasteful with a great sauce and the carrots were great too. The risotto was the best risotto we every had! Not cheap, but very good value for money. Definately try the risotto.

Large family group looking for a decent meal in Brussels. Trying to avoid the big brash places. Based on previous reviews thought this might suit. Mostly fish was had and it was just not fresh enough. It was all a bit average and quite expensive.

This place is really great. Great service and great food. It has a lovely cosy ambience and whilst it isn't fancy it's good Belgian fare. My party all had a super time and would definitely recommend and go back.

Le petit boxeur looks great. Dark walls but lots of mirrors and small lamps, small but stylish. Very friendly service. We tried the white house wine (a sauvignon blanc) which was pretty good.
However, I still have some doubts about the food. Maybe the cook didn't have his very best day, so compare my description with those of others to get an idea.
My friend started with a correct carpaccio - but that only tells you something about the quality of the ingredients of course. My starter consisted of really good chicken ravioli in a veal sauce with just a hint of truffle (actually, too much just a "hint" to mention it on the menu). We were disappoinbted in our main dish - a risotto with scallops and scampis that was also supposed to be prepared "with truffle" - not the slightest shadow of a truffle taste this time. Worse, the risotto was more perfumed and milky than a real risotto - the scallops and scampis had been baked and were served separately. All in all, too weak in taste. We finished our meal with a crème brûlée that was just correct, nothing exceptional.
Three courses and wine came at 52 euros each which is, sadly, not exceptional in the center of Brussels.
So I'm not sure. I'll probably give them a second chance. The place looks just too great.

The small but comfortable restaurant is within five minutes walk from the Grand Place, usually a very touristic area, yet the food is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious.
