“Just an ok restau”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2013

The place is nice, not crowdy and not full of tourists, which is great. I was there for lunch, and the service was great, the food ok, not spectacular as I thought it would be.
And it is a shame like so many other places in Europe, they don´t take credit cards. I had to leave my ID there and go to an ATM nearby

“Ok, but had slightly higher expectations”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

We went there given its high position in the TA charts.

As a starter we shared bruschetta with fresh tomato, anchovy and basil. For main course we took halloumi salad and tagliatelle with gamba's, white wine sauce, marrow and truffle oil. Everything tasted good without being extraordinary. Portions are really big. You don't need a starter, unless you are a big eater.

Staff was very friendly (maybe even a bit too friendly....I always think it's weird when people act as if they have known you for many years while it is the first time you meet).

I would give it a 3,5 if I could. Three is on the downside, but 4 would be too much. Might try it again sometime.

“Good food but make sure you book..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Otherwise you will be squeezed in for dinner only to be asked to move to the bar the minute you have finished, to allow other people who have not booked in !

I went to this restaurant on the strength of the Tripadvisor reviews and i was not disappointed with the food or the service in what was a really busy restaurant. Those who had booked appear to be sat at the back of the restaurant which was bustling, those who hadn't were sat at the front where there are a small number of covers. The service was very good and the food lived up to expectation but the minute our main course was cleared we were asked if we would move to the bar so another couple could have our table, the consolation for which was a free drink on the house.

My tip therefore is to book so that you can get through the whole of your meal without being moved, or don't and take advantage of a free drink at the bar (or insist on one). You choose.
