I happened to visit Antwerp on a cold Sunday in Jan 2013. We walked through the city as tourists in Icy Cold Weather and when we were famished we started to search for an Indian restaurant. We found a few but to our surprise we found them closed for lunch on a Sunday. However much to our delight we found AAHAR :-) It was a vegetarian buffet we had and even though I was looking forward to some tikkas...I enjoyed the vegetarian on offer and took multiple helpings :-) Delicious food...a very warm and friendly owner...a great place to have a lovely meal and excellent value for money.

Good selection of vegetarian dishes, decor was bit neglected and also looks like a low level cafe from the front. It opens out to a more extensive area at the back. The staff are friendly and the food was very tasty. It was very good value too.

This Gujrati restaurant is walking distance from the Antwerpen Central Station.

First of all away from home (India) when you find an indian restaurant it feels like heaven irrespective of the fact that food is good or bad. So it was like a discovery when we found it.

But later we realised that it was worth a million dollar discovery ;) because the food was authentic gujrati food served as buffet at a very reasonable price. So don't fret if you have to wait for sometime before getting a table.

Most of the time dinner is quite packed. Lunch is also served. Good service.

What made it so special was to see many non indian families living in the city, sitting there and enjoying Gujrati food all the way in Antwerpen :)

If you want plain simple food at a very cheap price, this is the pace to be. They serve their buffet at 9 euros and it is a decent spread. There USP is the simpleness of their food and that it tastes home cooked. All i can say is that it definitely does not taste like the food that's cooked at my home. It is way to simple for the indian tastes, some of the dishes they select on their menu are just passable. Have not tried the A la carte so cannot comment on that, although i have heard that the paratha and the paneer burji is good. Price wise it is definitely the cheapest, but I never get content eating here. Have a try, you might disagree.
