Typical and beautiful brasserie in a great part of town. Next to the menu filled with belgian classics, they offer loads of suggestions on a daily basis.
If you want to have a relaxed dinner and don't want to be disappointed. This is your place to be.
You can have food all day long. From breakfast, over lunch to dinner.
Very correct pricing.

I really intensively researched for my Antwerp dinner experience, I wanted a modern, little "foodie" brasserie with Belgian-style cooking, and when me and my spouse entered this beautiful, authentic, little place full of distinctive character we had high expectations as we watched the room filling up and getting busy just around 6pm. The kitchen is tiny and open to the room, located right behind the bar, the team looked young and spirited.

The service was very friendly, down-to-earth, uncomplicated and skilled enough to tell us about the menu in good English. Everything seemed perfect so far. But in the course of the evening there should be slight calamities and the waiting staff after all seemed a little confused, negligent and overchallenged with the high pace on a Monday night. The food arrived quick but nobody looked after our needs thereafter. For instance, our starter (artichokes) was forgotten and never reached us. But when we saw a table next to us having them, we felt we didn't miss out, as it was just the whole vegetable placed on a plate with some greens and sauce, up to yourself to peel.

Our food ordered was "avocado salad with northern shrimps" (19€) which ended up to be a huge disappointment in price/value: just two halves of avocado, lettuce, but a solid hollandaise - while the overall dish lacked seasoning and especially salt. The same is to say about the "mussels in white wine" from the blackboard with chef recommendations (22,50€) - while the quality of the mussels was really good, I have definitely had better and tastier than their interpretation, the jus (stock) was really bland and disappointed me. The fries that were included tasted very good, hand-chipped, double-fried - but it's always the fries in Belgium, right? The portion shared on one plate was rather small for two, but taste and making were convincing.

I must say the best thing about the food was probably the bread, which was outstanding, the rest was rather disappointing value for price, especially the lack of seasoning, tastefulness in preparing their high-quality basic products was hard to comprehend, for everything seemed hand-crafted and beautifully decorated. The flair simply left us hoping for more.

Sorry guys, I'm used to more creativity and taste for that price compared to other cities.

P.S.: Beware – notice that the patio is on a very loud main boulevard leading to the highway ring.

Let's start with the price: We paid 45€ for a starter, two main courses and three beers - a very reasonable price for a belgian dinner. Everything was very good: we had a superb tartare and a very good belgian stew. They brought us some very good fries, too. We asked for some cheese as an appetizer, but the cheese is just average - a ton of emmental-like blocks of anononymous cheese.
Anyway, we're very happy that we chose this place! :)

The interior is acceptable although rather cramped and several chairs should have been replaced a while ago. The food is acceptable but not refined. Rather low end brasserie than restaurant food. The service however is below all standards! Extremely rude and unprofessional! Definitely not worth another visit.

Good quality food and nice atmosphere, although this was tempered by pretty poor service. The waiters were not unfriendly, but we just felt we were ignored a lot of the time. I think they were understaffed when we visited. Also Marie-Rose sauce on a Salad Nicoise - bleugh!
