Earlier in the year we were in Ghent and ate at one of the three Amadeus restaurants there (which was great). So,we were pleasantly surprised that they also have 2 in Antwerp. We ate at the St-Paulusplaats branch, just off the main square, which sticks to their tried and tested formula. Most people opt for the rack of ribs with a bit of salad and a baked potato in a lovely garlicky sauce. At 16.95 euros a winner, particularly as it is all you can eat and waiters wander round with more ribs and spuds. They also do prawns, waterzooi (a Belgian dish of meat or fish, spuds and gravy)

If you want wine, they bring a massive bottle to the table, but you pay by the centimeter, depending on how much you drink. I stuck to dark beer though, which went well with the ribs.

The interior is filled with books and knick-knacks and is a very pleasant dining experience. The Antwerp branch wasn't as full as the Ghent one we ate at, which is odd as we were in Ghent on a rainy March Monday, whereas we were in Antwerp on a sunny Thursday. This may be due to the fact that Ghent is a student town and students love their cheap eats.

Staff are nice too.

Nice atmosphere and deco. We ordered the Ribs and they bring to you a plate with a long rack of ribs accompanied with salad and jacket potato. By the time we finished our ribs the waiter comes again and refills your plate, unlimited quantity of ribs and even jacket potato until you cannot eat any more. The quality of the ribs was very tasty and the jacket potato had a very tasty garlic sauce. The service was a little slow it can be improved. You must make a reservation to go to this restaurant because it is very busy, i dont think you will have a chance for a table without reservation. Very nice experience for All !

A group of us stopped in Amadeus on a weekend trip to Antwerp. This was an excellent choice for all you can eat ribs and jacket potatoes. Food very good and obviously plentiful and the service very quick when ordering your second (or third) rack of ribs.

I would highly recommend especially if you are planning on drinking some belgian beer while around the town.

Very quick and attentive service combined with all you can eat ribs and delicious baked potatoes. A perfect way to line your stomach before quaffing many more delicious Belgium beers.

Recently visited this eatery in the company of a stag party from the UK (20 people). We chose the venue because it had an 'all you can eat ribs' option and catered to groups. We ate there on a Saturday evening at roughly 9pm.

The restaurant is a relatively straight forward format. They do have a menu of options with some variety, but essentially what they're churning out 80% of the time are large racks of ribs that come on an 'all you can eat' basis. With the exception of one party member who was unable to eat pork, we all tucked in. The service was prompt and although not the friendliest ever this may have had something to do with the fact we were 45 minutes late for our 20 person table which was obviously a bit rude.

The ribs come as you'd expect, with a sweet/savoury glaze that was lovely. Accompanying the ribs were a bit of salad and a baked potato with some kind of sauce that, although delicious, none of us could firmly identify. Only three of our 19 made it onto a second rack, but this was partly down to the generous portions, and partly down to a desire to not over-eat before our night out continued.

Diners should note that although cutlery (including steak knives) are provided, you almost inevitably have to resort to fingers after a while and this is perhaps not an option if you're wearing your finest outfit!

The prices were fair. Not a bargain, but not unreasonable as the food was certainly better than the 'all you can eat' format may imply. With some drinks included our bill came to €25 per person.

The layout and décor inside is hard to describe and I'd probably recommend simply viewing some pictures on the venue's website. It's informal, but a lot of effort has gone into creating this 'informal' scene. It's a bit like a large eatery you tend to get in older ski-resorts or in rural Germany. That's the closest I can come.

I'd recommend this venue for couples, groups and families and would certainly return if I was in Antwerp again.
