“Excellent Vietnamese Streetfood with a modern touch”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

We went for lunch to Bun, Vietnamese Streetfood, a 5 minutes walk from Grote Markt. The restaurant is also opened for dinner.
The place is modern and tastfully decorated and has a very friendly and knowledgable host who is originally from Vietnam.
They have different kind of drinks to start with, I took the Bok choy. Fresh with a kick!
We ate the dried squid, fresh spring roll mackarel, noodle soup with Brasvar porc & beef,
rice noodle, deep fried rolls Brasvar porc and crispy rice flakes, Black Tiger prawn.
The food was original, delicious and you can taste the food is made with great care and love.
I would definetely visit Bun the next time we visit Antwerp.

“Authentic vietnamese food !”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Bún is a very new restaurant in the city center of Antwerp. It is very small, if you don't pay attention you walk by it without noticing. There is place for 14 people in the restaurant, 6 on a table and 8 at the bar. They work with a limited menu that changes every day, adapted to the fresh products available. There are two people working in the restaurant, one vietnamese woman and one guy who used to work for Pure C (Sergio Herman). They manage both the service and the cooking.

You probably don't understand a lot of the menu, but the waitress/chef is happy to explain the ingredients and flavours of every dish. As a starter we order some different kind of FRESH springrolls (€9 for 4 springrolls). They were really good, especially the Black tiger Prawns, and easy to share with friends. They also suggest typical vietnamese beer (€4) with it, to make the experience complete. As a main course I ordered Pho Bo, the national dish in Vietnam, which was really nice (€17). My friends ordered other dishes, which all looked and smelled really good!

This is certainly a must-do if you like authentic asian food and want to try new stuff, because the lady told us she tries new dishes every week! I would recommend it for going to with friends, not in particulary with your partner if you are into a romantic dinner. The athmosphere is really trendy, with trendy music in the background, not romantic as such.

We are definitely coming back !
