Middelheime park is THE place to go as an alternative to city touring. It really is a must see! Beautiful and fun sculptures(over 200) set in beautifully maintained gardens, ponds walkways and little nooks. Boxwood "rooms" define the sculptures in the temporary exhibition and then, across the road is the permanent exhibition full of wonderful sculptures both in full view and hidden among the trees and stupendous rhododendron. NOT TO BE MISSED!

Middelheimpark is a lovely alternative on a nice day to combine a good walk with some art. There is something for every taste - be it conventional, modern or abstract. Also easier to combine with kids :)

Middelheimpark (and Park Den Brandt) and is a wonderful place to enjoy, whether it is to make a walk from one statue to another, or to lie down and read a book, or just to relax and listen to the birds. You can stay here for hours and forget about the busy city.
Around 15/8, Jazz Middelheim takes place in these wonderful surroundings.
When arriving from E19 (from Brussels), you need to leave the motorway just before the Craeybeckstunnel...and you can park across from the Restaurant De Nachtegaal.

Walk in the beautiful park while admiring sculptures of well-known artists. You can easily park free at the entrance which you recognize by the statue of the boat hanging over the moat of the castle.
In summer open air movies are shown, check this out !
Explore the other side of the park too : Kasteel Den Brandt (location of Jazz Middelheim in August) at the other side of the Beukenlaan offers an old orchard, wide lawns, huge trees etc.
From the city center's Central Station, you can take bus 21 to get there.
