i have been here for so many years watching theatre performances and concerts and this auditorium is the best in town with his fine ancient baroque style

The second floor cafe is a lovely place to take a break for a tea while gazing up at the interior ceilings. Nice selection of teas and great cream for your coffee

Went to this place this weekend just before going to the theatre itself. We did not eat there but the food that we saw looked decent.
We only had little time left but were served quickly and efficiently. If you go to the theatre it is good to know that there is a brasserie/bar in the same building, you might want to go early and have a drink or a bite before the show starts.

They now also have some kind of 'dancing' event after the theatre plays. There is a dj and people who were at the theatre can stay for free. Other guests pay an entrance fee of 5 euro. I did not stay for dancing but it seemed as if this has a lot of success.

During a city trip to Antwerp, we came across the Bourla theater, close to the tallest sky scraper of Antwerp of KBC Bank. Very nice theater building, absolutely worth a visit even if there is no show going on. Go to the first floor and visit the buffet area & enjoy the exceptional ceiling.

The Bourla is a rather unknown place in Antwerp. But it's really a place you should visit. Theire are places in Antwerp who are much more visited but who are less interesting than the Bourla. The guided tour gives an ecellent imression of a theater built in the Italian way. Unfortunably the guided tours are only 4 times a year or on request (expensive). And it's unclear their are available in English. If you can't be guided you will also have a fine expierence walking around in the public acessible part of the building.
The foyer (French for theatre pub) is a nice place because you've a nice view on the passing traffic in the streets around and theire are very beautiful paintings on the ceiling. The menu is rather limited but the dishes who're served are good.
