“Clean & quiet , expected more though.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2012

The museum was interesting and well laid out, and not expensive. The jewels on display were lovely but it could have been a bit more interactive, for children it would be a bit boring.
The listening phones were a really good idea so you heard all the commentry in your own language.
I think there should have been some videos on a loop you could watch demonstrating cutting and grading of diamonds.
It is worth a visit if you like sparkly things and are considering buying diamonds.

“Interesting and educational”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2012

I, personally, liked this museum. It gives insight into the diamond industry, history of diamond mining and trade. There was something for the children to do too. They were on a diamond trail and they had to find 5 hidden diamonds, color them on a paper and at the end they received a small "diamond" as a souvenir. I only expected more pompous building, because this one is a bit dated and scruffy on the outside. The inside is quite new and renovated, located on 5 floors - also spacious.

“Educational, but not what I was expecting...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2011

The Diamantmuseum was very educational and has a wonderful series of displays on the mining and trading of diamonds. However, if you looking for case after case of gemstones to ooh and ah over, this is not the place. Worth a visit if you're spending the day in Antwerp, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get here.
