I visited the museum at the suggestion of a local friend and was extremely glad that I did. It is well worth the price of entry and the time you'll invest. The museum is the former home of the families and has been extremely well preserved, allowing visitors to glimpse how (wealthy) families lived.

The history of the family, Antwerp, printing and a bit on humanism is also included in the exhibits. Displays include books, printing presses, and artwork - all of it amazing.

I spent a fair amount of time in the museum due to so much being presented. My guidebook suggested 1 hour, but I was there for close to 2 hours.

The audioguide is well worth the extra 2 Euro - signage offers only basic descriptions, whereas the audioguide offers more in depth explanations of the rooms, exhibits and history.

Not just to see the impressive libraries and printing machines, it is also the most completely decorated period house. Some of the rooms feel like they grew into what they are, not set up for a museum. Going up and down stairs it give a feeling of discovery.

This beautiful old printing house, set around a lovely courtyard garden, contains the oldest printing presses in the world, dating from around 1600, and has much to offer to lovers of old houses, enthusiasts for old books, and anybody with an interest in furnishings: the wooden benches for proofreaders and the leather panels on the walls are particularly appealing. Absolutely not to be missed!

The artifacts are beautifully preserved and the history well laid out. I strongly recommend that you get the headsets since there is limited documentation with with the exhibits. Don't worry, they are quite inexpensive and really do a great job explaining the history of the times, the families, and how different people played a role in Antwerpen printing.

By the way, there is a small fee 8 Euro for adults, 1 for kids.
