An absolutely fascinating museum, particularly for anyone with an interest in books, e.g. librarians, writers and book-lovers. The information on the history of the publishing family, the firm and of publishing in general is very well presented and organised, and illustrated with beautiful and interesting books, manuscripts, paintings and objects housed in a beautiful old building. Be sure to allow enough time to do it justice.

I hadn't heard of this museum before though my partner was keen to go as it is on the UNESCO list. We thought about 1 hour would suffice but had to be ushered out 2+ hours later having had to rush through some of the 36 rooms. Fascinating, well laid out, good English descriptions, wonderful books and paintings (including Rubens).

I have seen a lot of museums in my still quite young life at 29.
But this was one of the most authentic and impressive collections I have witnessed so far, especially for me as a history and literature enthusiast. Everything so well-kept, friendly, easy-going and unobtrusive staff.
Absolutely deserved UNESCO world heritage site. Must-see when in Antwerp.
