the building itself is breathtaking and worth paying entrance for in itself. Every room is so wonderfully preserved you could get a real sense of the lives of the people living and working here. There's also a beautiful inner courtyard which is nice to sit in on a sunny day.

This is a small museum with many small rooms. On display were illustrated manuscripts, some of which had left England in the 16th century to escape destruction. Elsewhere you could see the history of printing and publishing over a number of centuries. The rooms themselves were fascinating and very well preserved/ restored.

The floors creak impressively and I almost got locked into the museum as it closed, but no other criticisms.

A very interesting and informative museum. There was old print works, but you can also see the printing presses and the types, and a little movie which shows how the process by which the books are edited and printed.

The value of this museum lies in the display of early books and manuscripts that they own. When I was there they featured an exhibit on illuminated manuscripts, all done in gold gilt, and dated to the medieval period. The display of printing presses is interesting, as is the house and its period furnishings.
