“Very interesting UNESCO world heritage site”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

The value of this museum lies in the display of early books and manuscripts that they own. When I was there they featured an exhibit on illuminated manuscripts, all done in gold gilt, and dated to the medieval period. The display of printing presses is interesting, as is the house and its period furnishings.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

The oldest printing presses in the world are here dating back to the late 1500's. Many old books and manuscripts mostly C16th but many C12th and one C9th all of them beautifully decorated. In the 1500's they were printing in Latin, Hebrew, Aramaic and Syriac. There are also numerous paintings by well-known artists covering 1500's to 1700's.

“A must while in Antwerp”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

This museum is one of the best I've visited in Europe. No only do you walk around a period house with furnishings, but you also see many original works on display. You get to see the printing press, the workshop and the tools they used. We had to see it in a rush as it closes at 5pm, but it was worth it.

“You will learn a lot about book printing”
Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

This is a really interesting museum. A lot of real objects related to printing is shown. Prioritize you time if you have less than 2 hours. This place closes at 5.
