“A glimpse of the glamor of old world travel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

Even if you don't have to go anywhere by train, check out this beautiful station. The soaring glass and steel vault made me nostalgic for the days when people dressed to the nines to take glamorous trips all over the world.

“Fantastic Railway Cathedral”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

Antwerp Central station is as impressive a railway building as any of it's contemporaries in the rest of Europe. The immense entrance hall and staircase are as breathtaking as they are beautiful. The station itself is huge with platforms on three different levels. Walking up to the building having shopped the Meir is a visual treat.

Must see when you visit Antwerp! Even if you do not use the train as a means of transportation, I highly recommend you visit inside the building!

“Out of this world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

A magnificent example of how to mix functionality and beauty. A great place to take photographs of a spectacular station. As some of the other reviewers have said, it is not quite New York or Moscow, but a magnificent structure.

“Prizewinning train station in neo-baroque style”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

Antwerp Central Station, rated 4th beautiful station in the world by Time Magazine. Won "Europa Nostra" prize for successful restoration. Very impressive building in lavishly decorated neo-baroque style, built in 1904. There is also a modern under ground High Speed Train station, designed by architect Jacques Voncke in 2006. Amazing contrast between modern and belle époque architecture. Worth a visit.
