Great little place, and the solution for my search for quality bio ingredients and nourishing fare. They had a lovely selection of tea and other beverages, after ordering my usual Rooibos I then noticed some other options that looked quite interesting and enticing, including another African preparation of Hibiscus that I regret not noticing sooner.
My meal was a little Seitan puff pastry served with Salad. The pastry was delicate and satisfying, but the Salad was outstanding! A pleasant presentation with excellent and fresh components- great romaine, unusually tasty tomatoes, cucumber, sweet little cubes of marinated beet, spinach, a giant piece of gently steamed broccoli, an excellent side portion of well flavored purple cabbage, opposite a lovely little spicy hill of (to me) a spanish flavored chutney of sorts. And the grapes....little tasty grapes. I was surprised and impressed.
As an omnivorous touring musician on upscale shows, I am used to getting lots of quality catering but mostly conventional food. Home is California so I am completely spoiled for food and produce quality. This cafe hit the mark, and satisfied my needs. Staff was lovely and friendly, and upon request informed me of "Natuurhuis", their favorite recommended Antwerp all Bio Organic food store. To be fair, the server warned me that in my salad there could be certain conventional elements due to the late season, but judging by the flavors I would guess that it was minimal. She also knew which items in the menu were all Bio, a plus. After tons of tour food, this was a welcome oasis.
I will be in town for the week, and will most certainly be making a return visit.
