this was a wonderful place to stay for a long weekend in Antwerp. We had 3 spacious and clean rooms, everything was very comfortable (if rather old fashioned) and the location in the old town was perfect. Really recommended if you are going to Antwerp for a break. Helpful concierge service, and good breakfast. I also understand that there is free wifi in all the rooms now - we just missed that so that was the only downside. so good on them for fixing it and for going out of their way to tell us (they emailed my friend who'd commented on the lack on wifi on his feedback form). Would definitely return on another Antwerp trip.

We (couple, 20+) stayed at Hotel Rubens in August 2014, and had a great stay. They offered us a small welcome drink, and we got to check in a little earlier which was great. We did request a room on a higher floor, since they have views of the cathedral, but got a room on the first floor (there's a total of 3 floors), facing the small street outside. It took about 20 mins to walk from the Central Station, and it's just around the corner from the cathedral and the harbour. Great location!

+
No cars on the street outside, so it's calm
Plenty of restaurants just around the corner
Large breakfast - hot and cold
Courtyard for relaxing (or eating breakfast if the weather is good)
Tapas night some nights of the week with free snacks (we never went but it sounds nice)
Close to most of the sights - walking distance to most things
Large, comfortable bed
Large bath tub
Wi-Fi included
Free map in the room

-
Small and slow elevator (not a problem for us, but maybe if you have a wheelchair)
The breakfast fruit wasn't very fresh
The staff was a little slow and took his time with everything (but he was very pleasant)
The hotel felt a little dated, like it was styled in the 80's - charming or weird, you tell me!

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors (3rd floor, I think) offer views of the cathedral

Good location. Pleasant staff. Lovely courtyard. Nice breakfast. Walking distance to city center... Reasonable.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. It was a great jumping off place for our river cruise.

We were at this hotel in July 2014 and it's incredible. The location is perfect, really. The rooms are nice and there is air conditioning (!), the breakfasts are very good, and the free wine in the evening is a nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

We went there in 2012 in order to spend some good time with my wife. 250 euros for a room -> you expect to find something nice!
But in the afternoon, no heat in the room. After 3 calls and 2h later, someone arrived to say that it was broken and they didn't find the time to change before we arrive. Joke??? No!
Moreover the bed was not good.
So we stayed 1 night only and the one after we went to the Hilton 200m after. For half price you find 300% better with a real service!

Really nice 'boutique' style hotel on the doorstep of the Grote Markt. Very friendly staff and nice rooms with well-needed aircon. The bed was a little bouncy but not a real problem. Nice hot and cold breakfast too. A good experience for us.

My mother and I stayed here together for three nights in May 2014, a joint birthday celebration. The hotel is serene and tranquil despite the very central location a few blocks from Grote Markt, the decor in public rooms as well as in our room attractive and tasteful (but not insufferably hip like many small Antwerp hotels), and we loved having a small terrace off our room to enjoy the surprise sunshine. The room was quite large by European standards. Breakfast, served buffet style, is more than adequate (and convenient, since there is no super-slow waiter service), and the staff at the hotel was gracious and helpful. All around, a superb stay. I'd recommend this hotel to tourists and business travelers alike, and I believe there are also several family rooms.

Room Tip: The room we had, a superior double with terrace, was spacious and quiet, overlooking the back of the...
