“We loved it and we would recommend it to every couple!”
Reviewed July 9, 2011

Entrance was quite good, no problems with checking in to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and was able to answer all our questions. The room we got was very clean and the modern interior made clear that the hotel was renovated recently. We had a nice view on the plaza. We were surprised by the fact that there was a small fridge instead of a minibar. This was very useful to us.

The breakfast was well catered. However, in our opinion €10,- per person was too expensive for the quality of the food.

When we checked out, it was possible for us to leave our luggage in a separate room during the day. For this reason we were able to leave Antwerpen later than expected.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the outer side of the hotel, to get a better view.

In fact the name of the hotel is changed and it is part of Leonardo chain now. Maybe my review will not be really objective as I was staying not in standard room but in suite. The rates are absolutely reasonable. Hotel is located just in front of Central Station, very close to the heart of the city. My room was really specious and very quite (to the courtyard). Also the room was very clean and comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk. It was a bit crowded during the breakfast and Internet is at additional cost, but overall I was really satisfied with my stay.

Cleaner, brighter and more modern than before (stayed here twice in its former life). The whole place has had a makeover and we could tell. Still a budget hotel, so don't expect anything posh or plenty of staff seeing to your every needs.

The room was tidy and large, sadly it was also over the enterance (one floor up) and we were awoken each morning by the smokers coughing their lungs up first thing, as they smoked right outside the front door, often at 06.30!!!!!!!

Breakfast was busy and getting a table sometimes difficult, we were there over the Christmas Market time and over a (four night) weekend. Basic stuff, with hot bits too, good value for the cost of the stay.

So, overall fine, good value and what we needed, a safe bed with a carpark in the middle of Antwerp.

The welcome at Reception was very warm and friendly, check-in was simple.
Although the bedroom was small and could have been improved with a little more storage space and a shelf or two in the bathroom, it was very clean and comfortable. Tea/Coffee making facilities would have been nice too. Our room had two windows overlooking the square between the hotel and the Railway Station but was very quiet.
Should I ever go to Antwerp again I would certainly make this Hotel my first choice.

I really cannot understand these other bad reviews.
we went here for 2 nights and could not fault it at all. the staff were very attentive, the modern reception was clean and the bar was very reasonable. the room was modern and spotlessly clean, the shower was great and it was very quiet.
its located right outside the station, so you are in the heart of the diamond district right away. the main shopping streets are a nice 10 minute walk away.
It is a budget hotel and as budget hotels go it is very very good. we paid 110 euro for 2 nights and i would definitely reccomend it to anyone for a good ,clean, budget hotel in the centre of things.

I would say this hotel is a decent 2-star option. Its best feature is the fact that it is located right outside of Central Station. Its worst feature is that it is located right outside of Central Station. The windows were not double paned, so we were awoken multiple times in the night by loud / drunken passers by on their way to the station. A good place, just not for sleeping.

The Leonardo was exactly what we hoped for at an amazingly good price. When I found it on line it seemed too good to be true - it wasn't. The rooms were huge with everything you'd expect. Having a fridge rather than a mini-bar was a bonus.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived I noticed the shower in our room dripped. I mentioned this to reception and asked if could be fixed. She said someone would look at it and if they couldn't fix it they would move us. We went out for the afternoon and when we got back they had moved all our stuff to another room. I was amazed: I thought I would need to have chased for that.

The business facilities are great. There is free internet in the lobby on 2 PCs. While there can be a bit of a queue for these in the morning, they're usually free most of the ret of the time. There are also plenty of lounge areas for meetings and drinks are reasonably priced.

Tha garage beneath the hotel costs 15 Euros a night and is a bit tight to get into. It was great though not to have to lug our luggage around.

Its next door to the Central Station and close to one of the multiplexes and all the shops and restaurants, so fantastic location.

Only 2 downs: 1 - Getting there by car can be a nightmare due to Antwerp's tortuous one way system.
2 - Our room overlooked the main road so was rather noisy at night.

We're back in Antwerp on business again in January and have already reserved staying here again. It's the ebst value we've found in the city.
