“Great service, outdated décor”
Reviewed July 16, 2014

The hotel is located in the best possible location in the heart of Antwerp’s old town. The room (quadruple) was spacey and included one large bed and two singles that were brought to the room after our arrival. Our general impression from the décor is that the room and the corridors are outdated and needs to be modernized.

The breakfast was great, the service of the staff and the food itself were perfect.

The service that we got from the front desk during our one night stay was perfect as well.

We stayed here for 2 nights in an Executive King Room 545. Check in was easy, fast and friendly. The hotel lobby is large and very nice. The hotel is going through some re decoration, they have completed the breakfast/dining room and now the bar is being renovated. It looks very nice.

The room is of a very generous size. It consist of a king size bed ,which I found to be a bit uncomfortable, 2 armchairs, coffee table, writing desk, tv, plenty of drawers and coat hangers in the wardrobe. Bath robes and slippers are supplied and so is a free bottle of water daily. The bathroom has a single vanity, toilet and a shower over the bath. The water is nice and hot and the shower head is also good. This is the only hotel that we have stayed in Belgium that has a shower curtain and no water leaks out over the floor. The rooms do not have free wi fi, cost is 15 euros per day. It is free in the lobby.

The rooms are looking a bit tired, so are the bathrooms. We were told the rooms will be re furbished in the near future.

By booking an executive room, you have access to the executive lounge. The lounge area is large with tables and chairs, then some couches and some lounge chairs scattered throughout. It is very nicely decorated. A single computer is available for use with free wi fi. The lounge is open all day and you may have your breakfast here is you wish. Drinks and canapés are served from 6.00pm consisting of wine, beer, juice, water and soft drink. Food is limited and basic. Cheese was served but with no crackers or bread to go with it. Some hot food was available including mini burgers, crumbed prawns, spring rolls and chicken nuggets. On the second night, the hot food was chicken skewers that tasted like processed chicken. This is not the standard this Hilton Hotel should be promoting. The Hilton London Tower Bridge was excellent (see my review).
Breakfast was included and we ate in the lobby restaurant as we felt it would have more variety. It consisted of the usual foods and drinks. If you want an omelette, it can be made to order. Service was good and friendly.

I have stayed in quite a few Hilton Hotels, and I like this hotel chain, but this would have to be the worst Hilton Hotel I have stayed in. I book executive rooms for the extra treatment, but I do expect good quality. A few improvements for guests staying in executive rooms would improve this hotel greatly.

This is a great hotel if you wish to explore the full delights of a Belgian City, with easy walking to some of the best chocolate shops, bars and restaurants as well as some of the best Waffles on the planet. Those who like to shop will not be disappointed to the proximity of the Meir and designer shops a plenty. When it come sot sights, history and general ambience I must admit I prefer Antwerp to Bruges
The hotel is picturesque from the outside with a lovely lobby inside as well as conservatory frontage that allows you to feel like you are on the square when enjoying breakfast or a meal.
The rooms are well appointed and they have an executive lounge that is very comfortable and serves a couple of white wines a red wine a cava and two types of beer, no spirits. Nonetheless it is a nice place to chill and worth the bit extra for an Executive room.
The rooms are well appointed and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.
I loved the hotel primarily for the location and although I would pay for an upgrade to an executive room, the breakfast and lounge facilities are not as expansive as other Hilton hotels and I would say that the breakfast in the main area is not up to the usual Hilton standard. Nonetheless a great choice if you are staying in Antwerp

This old hotel has a very good location in the old town, nice lobby, pleasant front office employees.
The rooms are spacious so is the bathroom, but it has very poor amenities,we had to ask for slippers and robes,we were told it is not included in the price,we had booked a luxury room!
Internet is 15E per 24 hours, the drainage of the shower and sink needs to be fixed.Service is mediocre,.
Breakfast is nice served in the renovated all day dining.

centrally located in the old part of Antwerp, I was very happy with this hotel. THe executive centre looked nice - unfortunately i couldnt take advantage of it. The front facade was under construction - and the lobby appeared temporary. It will really shine when its done

Great location and parking garage elevator to hotel lobby. Expected Hilton opulence. Breakfast was OK, offering a variety of breads, nice crescents, traditional US and German fair. Dining area offers a nice view of the square. And as seems usual in Europe, over priced at €18/person. Room was good size, clean and had a nice view of the cathedral steeple. Biggest disappointment was lack of free WiFi in room; had to go to the lobby for that and we're not Skypd'ing kids and moms from a noisy lobby. At €159/night (that's about $210/night!) WiFi must be included!! Other disappointment was the lack of the advertised bar, which was being renovated. A bit discerning was the drive through dozens of pedestrians to parking garage where parking is €17.50/day.

The Hitlon is in a great location for historical Antwerp. The hotel is the old grand bazaar and stands proudin a square. The rooms are very modern, well air conditioned ( I was there in 29 degrees C) and very quick Wifi. The bar was being refurbished during my stay but there is an excellent sports bar next door. The breakfast was very good and buffet style as you expect in a good hotel. The four stars was based upon the cost but this will may for other travellers.

Room Tip: Free Wifi in my room rate, check yours. Rooms are at the back from reception accessed from diffferen...
