The building itself (although already showing little cracks apparently) is a true jewel, and a gift for (hobby) photographers. The collections and their set-up however, not so much for me.
You will need a lot of time to go through all of them, and they're just not captive enough and lack continuity to stick with you when you leave. The rooftop offers a beautiful sight over Antwerp!

There are plenty of interesting sounding museums in Antwerp, but this is one of the newest and most striking. Its out in the docks area - about 15 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Its a very striking design from the outside and has some lovely touches inside as well - the wavy glass walls and little badges set into the paving slabs.

Admission was 6 euros per adult and this gave access to the permanent exhibitions on the 2nd to 8th floors. These set out the history of Antwerp in themes. Some of the exhibits are pretty random but it's all done very well. There's a free viewing platform on the roof and also a Michelin star restaurant on the 9th floor.

As city museums go, its pretty good.

Though the museum is very Antwerp focused, it's still worth the visit. If you don't have the time or aren't interested in musea, just go up to the top floor and enjoy the vue over Antwerp (it's free).

In the port / habour area of Antwerp - about a 20 minute walk from center. A Red brick and glass tower with amazing view and good exhibitions.
Closed on Mondays

Loved the architecture of the building and the different themes from floor to floor. Well worth the price. A bonus was the iPod guide (no additional cost) which allowed you to read additional information on the many different pieces. Very easy to navigate, allowing you to research what you want, when you want. Give yourself plenty of time to explore each floor; you won't be disappointed!
