“Hot noisy expensive”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2014

Close to train but the cabs are lined up right outside the windows honking and shouting all night long.160 euro for 3 people in a room. No air conditioning so we laid on top of the covers and were soaked in sweat.

The windows opened minimally so basically we felt like dogs trapped
inside a car on a hot day.

It's right next to the central station which gives you access to the trains, trams and buses all around the city. It's a short walk to all the major sites from the hotel and only a 10 minute walk to the hooker district.

10/10 it's ok

First of all is this hotel located perfectly.
we went from the Netherland by train to Antwerpen.
just a walk for ca. 50m and your in the hotel.

staff was friendly.

about the room:
clean and enough room (for european ;))

bathroom:
clean and enough room.

breakfast:
this was normal.
the last day the hotel had some problems with the coffee machine.
the staff didn't arrange some coffee frome elsewhere. no there was no coffee only hot water and hot chocolatemilk.
this was the only thing we didn't like on our stay.

The rest is perfect.

for a short stay i would advise this hotel!

I stayed at this hotel last night. Paid only 50 Euro and all I needed was a clean, non-smoking room, in a good location for the night. It got exactly that. The shower works well (good stream of hot water, fast), and the guy at check in was friendly and cheerful. There is minor traffic noise but not terrible. The Antwerpen Centraal railway station is right across the street, and from here till the Groenplaats (Green Square) starts a walking street with shops and restaurants, so the location couldn't be better.

I was surprised seeing a lot of negative ratings for this place. Some of these people need to get real and adjust their expectations or look at 100 Euro+ hotels.

The hotel is perfectly located for seeing the city of Antwerp - unfortunately, otherwise it doesn't offer many positives. Our room was on the fifth floor but was so noisy that we felt we were out on the road. There were also unending plumbing noises - the sound of toilets flushing, showers running - which, in combination with very thin walls, made it a very rough night's sleep.
The shower seemed to be broken in parts, so that to take a shower meant to spray the entire bathroom in water. Otherwise the room provided basic necessities, but certainly would not qualify as a 3 star hotel: single beds pushed together, little plastic bags of shower gel, ...
Unfortunately, the staff wasn't particularly helpful either. When we brought up the noisy, sleepless night we'd had, we got a sort of understanding shrug without any further form of apology.
Bottom line: good location but don't expect to sleep!

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room but were not accommodated - if you can make sure you have a room at the ba...

The hotel is located bang opposite the Antwerp Central Station and is Ideal for a tourist as the location gives you loads of transport option. The Rooms are small and the bathroom even smaller. The heating works fine and the internet/ WIFI signal is not very great. The restaurant offers a really good breakfast with different kinds of bread and cheese in addition to cold cuts, juice, coffee, yogurt, cereals, cold cuts etc. The Steaks at the restaurant could be a lot better and I suggest trying a different place for lunch or dinner. The restaurant also has a small bar attached which is okay for someone who just wants to catch a drink. It has absolutely no vibe. Like I said someone who just wants to catch a drink. Overall a decent place. Sleep comfort is quite good as the rooms are sound proof.

This hotel is hard to spot from the outside. Banners and signs outside seem dingy and dull. Once inside, though, things get better. Reception staff is good, but requested early check-in was not possible. A secure area is available for holding luggage. Room provided was clean and comfortable. Only disturbances were caused by other hotel guests coming in late and loud. Breakfast buffet was okay continental breakfast except for a large container of bacon. I expected scrambled eggs to be brought out, but never saw them on any of the morning I had breakfast. Price for the breakfast was not a great value, but there do not seem to be many other alternatives. Many of the food service operations -even in the train station - were not open for breakfast service. For me, the location made the stay worthwhile. I will probably stay here again on a trip to Antwerp.

Room Tip: Ask at check-in how to report loud guests as a precaution. You may not need to ask for help, but it...
