“A Pleasant Stay”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

The hotel is on a main thoroughfare with the Central Railway Station, Antwerp Zoo, The Diamond Centre within a few paces. There is a busy bus and tram terminal outside the door and again within a few steps is a taxi rank. It couldn't have been more central or convenient.
The entrance is rather austeer with modern functional sofas and low coffee tables. The reception desk is to one side and looks more like a counter of a good take-away than a hotel reception. Having said that, we were greeted warmly by the three smartly dressed members of staff and after checking us in we were offered a room upgrade with free internet wi-fi and free movies on demand. We accepted the upgrade and chose a room on the front of the hotel overlooking the square. The trainee receptionist also gave us maps and bus timetables and instructed us on the location of various places and approximate walking times to reach them. She was extremely helpful and eager to make our stay enjoyable.
The room was typical. A little better decorated than a Premier Inn but not luxuriously kitted out like the Hilton. It felt clean and fresh and well maintained. The shower space was large and well lit and it was nice to see face tissues and a selection of bath/shower products on the counter as well as towels and even facecloths. In the main room there was an espresso machine and a kettle. Plenty of hanging space and storage for shoes and other clothing. The bed is huge and brings my only complaint. The duvet did not lap over the edge of the bed and this meant having to sleep more centrally in the bed which is annoying when if like me, you prefer to hug the edge of the mattress. There were easy chairs and a table as well as the dressing table and plenty of space to get around.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean.

The breakfast room is an extension of the main reception area but discreetly shielded from the public area by a wall. There was hot and cold buffet and plenty of everything. A member of staff was on hand to help guide us through the procedure and to clean up after guests. The food was basic but pleasant and catered for all tastes. Scrambled or hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomato and new potato's. Cold meats and cheese, bread, crisp-breads, fruit juice and cereal were all there.

The hotel was fully booked during our stay but we hardly saw any other guests and didn't experience noise once the windows were closed. The wooden hallway floors may be loud if there are numbers of guests walking around but we did not experience this. All in all, a good place to stay.

Enjoyed a 6-day stay in an attractive, functional hotel. Room on the small side, furnished with comfortable king-size double bed, desk and armchair, large cupboard for clothes, mini-bar, safety box and nice sized well-appointed bathroom. Free wifi available in bedroom and throughout the property. Good breakfast with hot and cold dishes served but rather crowded when hotel full as happerned over the weekend I was there. Small fitness facility available in the hotel but large complementary fitness center and swimming pool offered to hotel guests at the sister Radisson Blu Hotel just across the square. Staff very professional and friendly, willing to help with any request or query regarding tourist attractions.

Room Tip: Hotel very quiet and it seems that outside noise does not affect any of the rooms. Rooms to left of...

Standard business hotel in a great location, right next to Antwerp central station with a lot of restaurants nearby. The historical centre can be reached in about ten to 15 minutes by foot or with public transportation. Very friendly check-in, free and stable Wi-Fi, quiet, new and almost spotless room – only the Nespresso coffeemaker (two free capsules provided) didn’t work correctly.
The Park Inn has a small windowless fitness room, but the pool and fitness facilities at the Radisson Blu across the street can be used (which are, however, rather outdated and worn down). Breakfast was good and sufficient, albeit the room with the buffet is very small and gets pretty crowded.

Checked in by young guy called Pieter who is a credit to the hotel - friendly and businesslike with an eye for detail.
Room 73 was fine and high up at the rear of the hotel as requested to avoid noise from busy Astridplein. Room was spotless and well maintained over my 3 day stay.
Only bad part is the breakfast. The young girl serving was pleasant, polite and helpful, however, she faced an uphill struggle because of poor choice and quality of food. The orange juice tasted of chemicals and was dispensed from a machine. The coffee was appalling - in Belgium this is sacrilege! The scrambled eggs were curdled. The sausages were pale and unappealing as was the bacon.
As a breakfast person, this sad debacle spoiled my overall stay and complicated my day by having to leave the premises in search of food.
Whoever is responsible for this poor service is letting down the otherwise excellent team.

there are pros and cons to this place.... great location right outside the central train station which is great if you are arriving or departing Antwerp by train as we were. The hotel is quite secure and the rooms reasonably well appointed if a bit on the small side. Breakfast was included in our deal rate and was quite good if you could get a table as the seating area is quite small as was the buffet part where you selected your breakfast items. Some previous reviews have commented on the cost of the breakfast being quite high but because it was included we had it and enjoyed it. The nespresso machine in the room is a nice touch as long as you like black coffee as there is no milk supplied to have your coffee white!..... Now... for the sting at check out...
When we checked in I provided a travel voucher that I had printed out at home when I booked and paid for the room online. It quite clearly stated that the room was paid in full and that our rate included breakfast... It also quite clearly stated that our credit card (number inserted here ) had been billed. I should point out at this juncture that I have used this particular website on numerous occasions when sourcing accommodation and have never encounter any problems with the vouchers they provide and in fact Trip advisor also has links to them as well. Come check out time, I was expecting to have to pay the city tax and we would be on our way... no... to that simple.... the young girl checking us out told me the amount that was due was for two nights accommodation and breakfast 2 x people for 2 days... plus the city taxes... I told her that I had provided a prepaid voucher at check in that covered our room and that breakfast was provided for both of us... but no... she wasn't having any of that... she told me that we had to pay the amount owing and that she didn't know about any voucher.. so i asked to speak to the manager....she got on the phone to the manager but the manager was too busy to come and speak to us... I told her that if the manager didn't become "unbusy" and come and see us within 5 minutes we would be leaving as we had a train to catch and if we missed it we would miss our connecting trains through out the day, resulting in us having to organise more accommodation at some point. Miraculously, the manager found some time in her busy schedule to come and speak to us and was quite unapologetic for the fact that her staff had lost the voucher we had handed in when we checked in.. according to her if it wasn't there, then it didn't exist... then i remembered that i had a copy of all the emails and accommodation confirmations on my iPad so i hunted through my files and found it...she looked at it and stated that even though it said that the room had been paid in full, they hadn't received any money and that she believed that thy hadn't actually taken the money from my account. I showed her the part where it said that my card had been charged and the amount... and she was still reluctant to accept it so she said that she had to make another phone call to someone else to check if we were allowed to go.. in the end we got the all clear to leave but I wonder what would have happened if i hadn't have had the electronic copy... me being as anal as i am with regard to paperwork... this has only made me more so...
would i stay here again? maybe... its a great location...probably if i even end up in antwerp again but i don't think that's likely... and if we did I would certainly have back up copies of any and all paperwork..

I was there together with a friend for the weekend, the hotel has a good location , close to the station, shops, restaurants....
Check in was quick and friendly. The rooms in the back don't have a view except some bricks and rooftops but we were not there to have a view though. They're not really big but big enough with a good sized bathroom, allthough the lights in the bathroom could be better, it's enough to take a shower etc. but not to put your make up on. There was also a nespresso which was nice.
Breakfast was really good, everything you can think of was there! Again staff very friendly!!!
We for sure will go back to the hotel when in Antwerp!
