Hotel Les Nuits
Ranked #22 of 72 Hotels in Antwerp
Reviewed January 1, 2012

We stayed 4 nights between Christmas and new year to enjoy the sights, culture and shops of Antwerp. The hotel proved a good choice as the location is excellent, walking distance to everything of interest, and with a tram stop outside. The design is very 'boutiquey' all rooms different, ours (no 41) was on top floor facing front, huge comfy bed set in the centre of the room with gauze curtains around it, huge warm duvet and soft pillows, black laquer furniture, red velvet curtains, black carpet (you're bound to leave socks behind). We had a sep bathroom (with bath and shower) and a sep loo cubicle. I thought the breakfast was good eg fresh squeezed orange juice. No kettle/hotwater in room but room service was incredibly quick. We ate in the Flamant dining room one evening and the food was very good. The young staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. We were disappointed that the steam room was out of service, although the sauna was functioning. The spa area felt very chilly however. This is a lovely cozy hotel and a good winter choice.

Room Tip: Worth checking the website and asking the staff when booking as all rooms are different

A plus for:
- the location: in the middle of the shopping center of Antwerp, and close by the cathedral and musea
- the very soft, big beds: I slept wonderfully good

A minus for:
- the cold bathroom: no heating :-(
- the black walls everywhere in the hotel, which makes it spooky or depressing
- the poor breakfast for 16,5 EUR pp: no buffet, but a plate with only 1 small piece of ham, cheese, a lousy fruit salad, 1 croissant, and 1 pistolet...

Although we made a reservation via the website, and got a confirmation by email, the reservation was not in their system. Luckily, there were still free rooms, but we conclude they have an IT problem....

Not really worth the price. For the next Antwerp visit, we look for another hotel.

small but cozy rooms, full of amenities, very relaxing, great location. The steam/sauna is excellent, with a very aptly named relaxation room next to it, with spa music playing in the background. Restaurant/breakfast facilities are excellent, and in the best place to be if you're going to shop in Antwerp.

Room Tip: if you don't need a view, doesn't really matter!

The reception was very friendly, also offering us a sauna in response to us entering the lobby shivering from the Belgian weather. The room was very spacious, with a totally open bathroom with bath and shower. The only minus was that the toilet was also part of the open sanitary, and a door closing off the toilet from the rest would have been a better idea. However, we mentioned this upon checking out, and apparently not all rooms have an open toilet - so just ask about this if it matters to you. The breakfast room was very cosy, with a very homey feeling to it, probably as a result of some input from the interior design shop this place seems affiliated with.

Room Tip: ask for a romm with separate toilet

When entering the hotel you don't know what to expect. It is small, with a very small reception. Elevator or stairs bring you up to your room. The room is large with a large bathroom. Not all rooms are the same, which adds to the charm of the hotel. Excellent bed, large cupboards. Being a design hotel, with dark colors, the room was very interesting.
On the first floor is all the action. Bar, restaurant and breakfast. Very very friendly staff, always a smile on their face. Breakfast is niceley presented. Not a buffet but presented on a large plate. Lunch and dinner are both excellent. It tasted good and it was presented superbly. And, staff always friendly.
The hotel is situated in a good location. Shops and many restaurants close by. Parking around the corner in a public parking. When entering the hotel after 10 PM you'll need the keycard to open the outside entrance door.

Room Tip: Ask for a guite room. The noise on the front side can be loud.

With just 24 rooms on offer, Les Nuits Antwerp is located in the heart of the city and offers its guests a unique staying experience. After modern, brightly lit hotel rooms in Brugge and Ghent, I was presently surprised when I checked into the black themed hotel. My room was large and faced the main street that ran along the front of the hotel. Upon stepping into its grey and black interiors I was a little shocked (albiet pleasantly) at the dark walls and equally dark decor. Stuffed animal heads hung from above the bed that was draped in black cotton sheets. Wooden heads sporting tribal jewelery adorned the window sills. The wash basin was integrated into the corridor, the loo was separate and the bath had no door!!! Unique, quaint and very edgy! And aptly titled too.... the room is called Nothing to Hide!
It take guts (or a few whiskeys) to walk down the corridor to your room at night. Pitch dark, the corridors light up by motion detected lights as you walk past them. Hence don't grope around for a switch board. You're not going to find one! The complimentary bottle of bubbly that come with the room offers some much needed respite after the harrowing walk through.
The Flament Dining room is the only restaurant in the hotel. Its subdued and airy with plenty of seating and some of the finest food on offer. Their breakfast, served at the table and not buffet style, is unique and wholesome. They probably have the best museli with yogurt and fruit in all off Antwerp, served in typical Les Nuits style.
For convenience to the best shopping, sightseeing and history in Antwerp, Les Nuits is a great and economical place to stay. The dark, slightly ghostly feel of the hotel offers a unique staying experience, especially for the adventurous traveller. All in all, its a brilliantly designed hotel that fabulously located in the City of Diamonds.

Room Tip: The Enjoy Luxury rooms are the best. Request one that does not face the main road as Antwerpans can...

Very pleasantly situated, helpful staff even for last minute dinner suggestions and convenient roof top terrace.
We settled for a small but value for money room. All interesting neighbourhoods are within walking distance, as well as our favorite lunch venue "Het Gebaar". Les Nuits is situated on an excellent down town location but away from the touristic Meir. Parking garage within 100m (not included).
