Glad to have got an available room for a business trip, I was greatly disapppointed by this hotel. Definetely out of current standards

- Location, not quite in downtown but away along docks , windows right into a noisy street with a Porsche maintenance building with exhausts and vents systems noises,

- Rooms: small, and unmaintained, the mini bar is empty and its fridge out of duty. Worse, the small cabinet containing the mini fridge was falling down and I had to take care that the whole furniture not to crash on my feet.

- When in the evening, I asked for some snack, the answer was a vague direction to find a couple of bars... I went out and I had to walk for a 15 minutes walk before finding some bars and snacks places by the docks.

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel service. The room is very stinky, obviously poeple have used the room as a smoking room. While I have specified that I wanted a non smoking room, care has not been taken to make sure this was the case. The room is dirty, spider web son the walls, black marks around the ventillation (by the way ventilation system did not work at all), the window is very filthy, the curtains are really dirty and disgusting. The fridge has huge ice on the deepfreezer door and dirty. No hanger in the bathroom and black mold in between the tiles in the bathrooms. Even though I have paid to stay for 2 nights, I have left the hotel after the first night. The hotel is very noisy, there is a cafe/bar nearby playing loud music and the stairs doors of the building make incredible noise. The walls seemed made of carton because you can hear every single noise from outsite the room. YOU CAN'T SLEEP AT ALL !! Really dissapointing and will not recommend this hotel to nobody. They have "3 stars" attached on the wall - this hotel does not even deserve ANY STAR - this hotel does not even deserve to be a "Best Western" chain of hotel. If you came late after 22.30 - nobody will be on waiting, you have to call and wait for more than 30 minutes!! outside the building, until the person waiting on call arrives at the hotel. This is an impossible service from a 3-star hotel.

thank god we only stayed there for one night. it's not the area were the hotel is located, at least you can park anywhere around the hotel for free, it's just the hotel itself. our room was on the 4th floor, next to the elevator. this wasn't the worst thing, but the room was just dirty, unclean, disgusting... stains everywhere, on the carpet, even on the walls. thankfully i didn't have to take a shower. there were hairs on the bed, the blanket had holes.

we also had to take the breakfast there. well they offer you the cheapest food you can imagine. when we arrived at around 9 a.m. no one had cleaned the tables other people had already left. the reason: the poor girl from the reception had to take care of the reception AND the breakfast buffet.

we didn't have the time to research better for hotels in antwerp and next time we will definately do so!
would never return to this hotel.

I stayed here on whilst on business for 3 nights. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the City Centre. There is a choice of bars and restaurants withineasy walking distance.

The corridor on the second floor was very shabby, with stained carpets and damage to the walls which had been roughly patched up. There is not any air conditioning and the rooms become very hot and uncomfortable at night when the weather is good.

The internet was out of action as was the pay per view during my stay very inconvenient when on business. The room itself was clean, with a comfortable bed and it was reasonably spacious. There was a shortage of electrical sockets and I had to unplug my laptop to boil the kettle etc.

However for the price of 61 Euros with breakfast, the hotel was a bargain.

...the sleek "Philippe Starck" rooms are only on the top floor, and these are tiny despite having nice terraces. Their full-wall sliding glass doors do face east, though, which means that they heat up early and stay that way all day. This might not be a problem during dark and drizzly Flemish winters, but during a summer heatwave it got pretty awful in there. And while the light on a switch marked "Air-con" glowed optimistically, the staff assured me that the building does not actually have any. And somehow the mini-fridge managed to be hotter than the rest of the room, so cold drinks were out of the question. The glass-walled bathrooms meant there was no cool-tiled respite in there either (and the consequent lack of privacy means these double rooms are only for those REALLY in love...). While the cheap attempt at Starck decor was more amusing than impressive, the top floor rooms were very crisp and clean where it counted (except for the moldy shower curtain), while apparently the lower floor rooms are un-renovated, un-terraced and generally unpleasant. Breakfast was spare but decent. What staff there was were nice after an initial chill (the only cool thing about the place), and were polite and helpful arranging transportation (necessary because the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, without even an ATM nearby) and looking for solutions to my constant whining :-). Apparently the property is for sale, so there won't be investment in correcting any problems until the new owners take over. But with a nightly rate less around the price of a dinner out, how much can you really expect?

Needed a cheapish place to stay whilst visiting friends and Belgium has got SO expensive these last 3 years SO did the Best Western Hit and Miss- this one was a bit of a Miss. Rooms are basic and clean enough (beds and mattresses look new) but dowdy and dated not even a picture to cheer it up. Double glazing worked well to keep street noise out but you would fry there in summer unless you opened windows. Bathroom needs a shower/bath tap that works properly and a curtain that does not fall down.
One member of staff on reception and trying to keep breakfast items loaded up too so stressed and grumpy. Breakfast was a pretty sad affair with very cheap food and they ran out on most things on our first morning by 9 am.
Given that is in the Docklands development area this hotel COULD be nice if the owner stopped taking all the money out and reinvested some of it in room/bathroom upgrades, a better breakfast and properly trained and less hassled staff.
We paid £175 for 2 nights B and B through BW website and parked for free on the street outside. There a a number of small bars nearby which got busy in the evenings and just take care when you walk across the docks to town that you don't go into the red light area (unless you want to!) which is mixed in with residential and local college. One problem we had in Antwerp was restaurants wanting cash not debit or credit card payments.

Whoever was manning the reception desk on December 13 needs to be fired. He was not only rude but also aggressive, and at several points, useless in how he dealt with our group. We had 5 rooms altogether but checked-in at different times. My initial contact with the staffmember, he showed a supreme indifference to his job. No greeting, no smile, no eye contact. There was no inquiry as to how our trip into town was, or were we in town for business or on holiday - just straight out business. I later found out that I was the second of our group to check in, and that the one previous to me requested he be reached when others had checked in. He was never reached.

Subsequent interactions were worse. After I asked if there was a good reason why I couldn't contact Reception from my room, the same staffmember simply said "then your phone is probably broken". No offer was made to send someone to fix the phone. Again, no eye contact.

When staffmember noticed that three of the five rooms had not checked in yet, he basically ordered us to tell our fellow travelers to check-in before 11pm. A suggestion was made for one of us already checked in to check-in the remaining rooms (all of which by the way were pre-paid). There were four of us at the lobby at that time and no one had his passport or Dutch identity card on him. The staffmember looked at us like we were incompetent, furrowed his brow and asked how that was possible.

As to our room, as previously mentioned the phone failed to work. Additionally, the room we booked was a double bed room, which in general hotel terms means one bed, not the two singles placed side by side which was what we received and tried valliantly not to slip in between in during the night. The mattress springs were also clearly felt through the fabric. On a scale of 1 to 10 for sleep comfort, it was clearly a 1.
