Excellent set dinner with friends. Whilst other tables were replaced with diners during the night we had our table from 19.30 to 23.30 with no pressure to leave - an excellent meal and service

What a splendid antidote this restaurant provided to the gloom of rain and the battering provided by an overnight flight! The rooms meandering through the old building, the decor, the relative quiet despite the number of diners, the food itself, and the splendid service all combined to make this a unique evening for the four of us. And a few polite questions got us a tour of the premises by the owner! Not much more to ask for.

We had high expectations given SAVD's reputation and the specialness of the occasion (my daughter's birthday). The evening started splendidly. The location and atmosphere (that open fire on a chilly night) was impeccable, and the service attentive. But as the evening went on and the restaurant filled, the service went down hill and we had to raise our voices to talk across a small table. Getting desert, coffee and then the tab required snagging any available waiter as ours, who had been so attentive and gracious at the beginning, was by then moving like a whirling dervish to keep up with the number of diners and rarely near our table. Since the food and presentation lived up to the SAVD's high ratings, the end of the evening was disappointing. To be clear, we would go again, but not on an evening when it would be as busy.

We found this restaurant by luck, and were absolutely thrilled. The interior is mesmerising, and the atmosphere relaxed. We were lucky to get a table close to the fireplace, and we loved the slight smell of smoke from the burning wood!! Our waitress was very attentive, and had the perfect balance of being there for us and leaving us alone. The food was delicious, we had one of the fixed menus, which we also found was good value for money. We absolutely loved it, and will be back next time we're in Antwerp.

Went for lunch on the Friday of my 4 day break. Hard to find in a lovely little hidden alleyway (see other reviews) and you have to ring the bell to get in!.
Nice interior setting and staff top notch. I had the lunch deal at 40 euros and G and T and a half bottle of red and other reviewers quite right in stating drinks are on the expensive side.
Food I expected more of (not in terms of portion size, they were as expected). Starter was nice including two of the best bits of lobster I have ever eaten to be fair.
Main was fair and you did need to eat all the elements together, otherwise the balance would have been all wrong. Nice but not outstanding.
Pud or sweet ( I dont stand on ceremony here you know, what you see and read is what you get lol!) Nice not overly sweet triple chocolate creation but again whilst good I was expecting a little better.
Value mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm just for the food, not for the drinks but taken as a whole experience yep it's a thumbs up from me.
