excellent beer brewed by the monks in the abbey nearby. Pub is not worth while to visit unless for a good glass of trappist beer

walk around the monastery where some of the world's best beers are brewed, there is an immense park where you can wind down, and have a trappist beer and lunch in the brasserie accross from the monastery. if the shop is open you can buy beer and cheese in the monastery

I visited on a Sunday afternoon in September when the weather was great, so I sat outside on the patio-recommend if the weather is nice. The mac & cheese with ham was phenomenal, especially when washed down with the half dubbel/half trippel beer option. The cafe is huge with lots of parking, albeit geared a little too much toward large tour bus crowds. Nice selection of beers, cheeses, and other souvenirs to purchase. I recommend taking a walk across the street afterward to walk the perimeter of the monastery. They have a lot of hiking and biking trails.

Been there a few times. We like to walk around the Abbey on the beautiful tree lined paths, then go across the street to their restaurant (Cafe Trappisten) to drink their beer and eat. The macaroni & cheese is great. It's made with their Trappist cheese and has bits of ham inside. The beef stew is algo very good, with a gravy made with the beer.

In the abbey there is absolute silence, and you can not visit it, but you can drink a beer in the bar and the other side of the street.
But you can make nice walks in the park around the abbey.
There is also a little chapel that you can see.
