This restaurant is situated on a busy corner and in true European fashion, all of the chairs on the terrace face the street! A good place for a coffee and some serious people watching. We have eaten here a couple of times, the food, wine and service are acceptable. We shared a Chateau Briand and a bottle of red - a nice way to spend an evening!

This is the oldest inn of the hague. There since 1423. If you excist for almost 6 centuries, you have to do something well. The food is simple but excellent. The building from the outside is lovely. Inside it has a very good ambiance. A very good place for a lunch.

This place is always busy, especially the terrace outside, and it is right in the centre. The building is old and historic, although now somehwat revamped inside. It can get crowded and staff are then very busy. If you are going out for coffee, the coffee here is not the best in town. It's just normal. They serve a variety of cakes.

I can't believe that such a stylishly renovated bar / restaurant in such a great location has only one wine of each colour by the glass and only two beers on draught (the ubiquitous Heineken) and Wieckse Wit, which arrived in a bottle anyway, presumably because it was easier for the rather surly staff. We're not tourists, we're expats, and hoped to make this our 'local'. But we wouldn't be bothered if we never went again. For goodness sake, get 3 or 4 wines of each colour, bigger wine glasses (what is this thing about thimble-sized wine glasses?) and half-a-dozen draught beers. You're not a transport cafe: this place could be a gold mine!
