“we never got to order something”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

we wanted to go for lunch on a sunday. the restaurant itself was not too busy, a table of 4 and one of 6 persons. in the adjoining coffee/lunchroom a lot of people were having a small bite and a coffee. probably that was the reason why we had to wait 5 minutes to get a winelist (not yet the menu). we noticed that the other people, who were allready there when we we seated, still had nothing to drink. so when after another 5 minutes a waiter hurried by, we just asked him if he was very busy. "I'll get you the manager" was his immidiate reply. "he deals with the complaints". But we hadn't complained yet, we were just wondering how long it would take to get attention and service. we decided not to wait untill we would have a reason to complain, and just leave. too bad, because we really wanted to try Corona.

“Quaint but well-appointed”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

Staying at the Corona for three nights. Spacious room, huge bed that I don't really need, but feels sumptuous. I opened the wardrobe door and found an iron and an ironing board inside - wonderful idea. The breakfast is divine, but you need time to savour it properly. Special rate for a group booking - excellent value.

The downside is getting there by car - almost impossible. Having circled the city centre for nearly an hour, I finally ended up at a red light in front of a taxi, leapt out and hired the driver to guide me in. Then the entrance to the garage is terrifying, narrow and winding, and the reserved spaces for the hotel are inconvenient, as is the spiral staircase with double doors at every level and the sordid little exit in the back yard, bordered on both sides with "dumpsters" - rather ingnominious compared to the elegant entrance and glass restaurant front. Having a reserved space in the garage for 20 Euros per night is worth the money if arriving by car. Otherwise, parking is impossible.

“Excellent food, decor and service in the middle of The Hague”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

This restaurant is probably the most underrated restaurant in The Hague as it is historically seen as a hotel restaurant. Wrong catagorisation.....this restaurant reopened approximately 1 year ago and we have been there a number of times since it opened. The young new chef has created some excellent modern dishes and the set menu of the day is in fact very inexpensive for a high quality 3 course meal. We tried the "Chefs Table" one evening which is ideal if there is a group of approximately 8 persons, giving you the opportunity to see the culinary creations being prepared.

Try this restaurant, I am sure you will not be disappointed!

(note I wanted to write this review a long time ago however the restaurant did not come up in Trip Advisors restaurant listing and could only be found under hotel listings. I am happy to see Trip Advisor have now included this establishment separately in their their restaurant listing. Thank you Trip Advisor)
