We stopped here on our way to our hotel from our Viking River Cruise. Of course, we too were unable to actually get into the palace, but we did do the audio tour in the museum. It gave us some good history, and facts about what happened here. One interesting thing we did do was to write our "wish for peace" on a piece of paper to hang on the tree outside of the museum. If you have an extra half hour, it's an interesting spot with plenty of historical value.

We didn't get a chance to even get past the gates on the tour we went on, but it was still interesting to see the palace and the peace monument. It's really quite beautiful, and as a future law student, interesting to be able to see it.

You can't actually go into the Peace Palace, you just visit an information centre nearby. It has audio guides only. On the day that I visited, they all broke down. Since there were no labels or other information on the displays, it as impossible to work out what was what, without the audio guides. Even when they worked for the first few minutes, it was all very dull and wordy.

This beautiful historical palace is currently used as the "International Court of Justice" of the United Nations. The palace is not open for tourists unless you join one of the few guided tours. The gardens are magnificent too but also not accessible except for guided tours.

Visited here last week (w/c 15-May-2024) with my wife, father and step-mum. Inspirational & in particular I found the flame and stones from 196 countries amazing, but it is clear to see that the world has changed in the 10yrs since it was laid in place. It should be seen, along with the countless words for peace. Moving on rest of our trip in Holland was great.
