“Excellent, you feel like being part of the exhibition”

always postponed because thought it was just a pic 360 of Scheveningen in the 50's.... loved when I finally went there. I had the feeling that I actually was in Scheveningen when the picture was being taken.

“Informative and interesting”

Watch the video on entry so that you understand the story behind the creation of the panorama. It makes the experience even more worthwhile and amazing.

“Amazing!”

If You know nothing about a "panorama" idea it is a great place to start. Majority of these kind of paintings are batalistic, but this is uniqe - paceful, beautiful. Relax and enjoy.
Museum has alwso a very nice cafe with resonable prices.

“Unexpected surprise”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

The entry fee is a bit stiff, but there are few of these Panoramas from the 1800s left in the world, so most people will think it is worth it. Kids will certainly enjoy it. We came on a very cold day, and were instantly transported to the beach at Scheveningen, nearly 150 years ago. The small museum downstairs has some lovely paining by Mesdag, but this is the main event. Some people might find the constant and lengthy narration in different languages annoying; we luckily arrived just as the English version began. We then heard Chinese and left during the German version.

“Very nice visit”

The Panorama is a worthwhile stop, and can be good for kids.

After entry, you enter a small museum. It has the works of Hedrik Willem Mesdag, which are worth seeing. There are then two smaller rooms with other artists. Overall the museum is small, but interesting. You then go upstairs to the Panorama.

The panorama itself is very good. It gives a great picture of the North Sea beach of The Hague, Scheveningen from the 1880's. A good descriptive audio track plays, and describes what you are looking at. It alternates between English and Dutch, so you may have to wait a little for your language, but it is very informative.

There is a small cafe, and a gift shop. Entry is currently 8.50 euro for adults, and 4.50 for kids. It does accept the Dutch Museum Card, and if you have it entry is free. There is street parking in the surrounding area and it is close to tram line 17.
