Description: Mochi was born out of pure love! Patrick Buyze and Lissette Parra created a concept that intertwined both of their passion for travel and food. The restaurant offers a unique style of community dining serving Japanese-Latin American inspired dishes. The "Chefs Choice Menu" allows room for creativity and variety. With each course, you are served several distinct dishes to share and experience a journey of flavors like our famous Frikandel Speciaal. Aside from the menu there are a few classic items that can be ordered like the Pizza Sashimi, Bonito Waved Tiger Prawns and Hirado Asparagus. This innovative "new style" of cooking was influenced during both of their extensive travels around the world including Japan, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Colombia, Argentina, Brasil and many others which led to this success.

While vactioning in Amsterdam in July, we took a day trip to The Hague to visit some friends. Our friends highly recommended Mochi so we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. Mochi serves delectable dishes offering a fusion of Asian and Latin flavors. This fusion was a nice, perfect balance of amazing flavors. The service at Mochi was also incredible. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us a variety of suggestions which did not disappoint us at all. We even got to meet the owners when they visited our table to see if we enjoyed our meal. Excellent food, service and hospitality all in a nice Asian inspired atmosphere. If you ever make it to The Hague make sure you go eat at Mochi.

We went to Mochi with a group of friends for my birthday and I can confidently say that it was the best meal and dining experience I have had since moving to The Netherlands three years ago. The chef's menu is not for nervous eaters since each dish is a surprise, but everything was amazingly delicious. Each of the three courses (the dessert course is an extra 10 euro a person) is actually a series of small plates designed to share which was a wonderful change of pace from the usual "set menu". Each dish was unique and a perfect blend of Asian and Latin flavors. While not cheap (39.50 for three courses + 10 euro for dessert + wine) it is a perfect place for a special occasion. The staff is also top notch and knowledgable. Mochi has quickly become my favorite place to eat in The Hague!

We booked after ready reviews on TA and were not disappointed. It was a wet Thursday night in January, all the other restaurants in the area looked empty, we went into Mochi and it was packed. There's no menu, no ordering, just choose you drinks and sit back and wait for some of the most tasty and innovative food I have ever tasted (and we eat out a lot) to arrive. Everything was beautifully presented and incredibly tasty - my wife couldn't eat fish and this was accommodated with ease. At one stage, starting to feel a little full we wondered if that was it, but no, more lovely dished appeared. It's has very Japanese flavours, but fused with South American and European ingredients.

We had the deserts as well as we just had to try them and they too didn't disappoint. The wine was superb and the service, by the lovely lady owner, was perfect.

We can't wait to go back when we next go to the Hague on business. If you want something new, tasty and filling go here - but make sure you book!

Delightful, friendly service, appealing decor and wonderful aromas set our expectations on high and the experience was well worth the trip. The fusion of south American and Asian cuisine was expertly pared with good wine and every dish was appetizing and delicious. The chef accomodated a few members of our group who had food allergies. We were a group of four which allowed us to share four different platters of food for each of the 3 courses. We had an exceptionally fine evening. The food is always fresh from the local market. We recommend that you reserve your table so that you won't be disappointed.

It does not have a star, but food wise it certainly gives you the thrill of an adventurous dining experience. The setting is slightly less comfortable than in most restaurants, but the food and price are all worth it. Just try for yourself.
