Tendrils trail down into tranquil pools cushioned by mossy banks of green hold your senses in a calm embrace. This is a place of contemplative beauty. I am blessed to have this retreat on my doorstep. Step out of the stresses of life and slow down here. The beautiful nature, radiant old ladies sitting bathing it it's soothing, dappled light, young brides glowing trail their white dresses here cameras holding her gaze in a click. People leave soothed and spread out into Clingendael and life. Pause as you leave and greet the beloved doggy memorials under the great tree near the lake. It is all quite lovely and beautifully maintained.
We visited the park for couple of hours. Unfortunately the Japanese garden was closed and we could not enter. However, the place is wonderful for relaxing and meditating.
Every year I visit the Japanese Garden, It amazes me everytime. It's located in the beautiful woods of Clingendael near The Hague.
Hidden gem - very nice to take a stroll through. Genuinely feels Japanese. Don't expect it to be huge though.
All the locals know about this, and enjoy it. It seems that the word is getting out among tourists and expats too, because every time I go there are plenty of visitors. It is beautiful, free, and peaceful.
It's only open for few months and then it gets crowded. The main entrance is small and do are the sidewalks. If you don't pay attention to all the people in your way and look around for a bit, it is actually quite nice. Well maintained and fun for an hour, and ye.. is free.
