“nice but not great”
Review of Japanese Garden

The garden only opens two weeks in the spring and two weeks in the autumn. Remember to check the time table from its official website. The garden is situation inside a large park, and the size of the garden is not very big (took us about 5 minutes to stroll around it). Be prepared to be crowded with lots of people especially during weekend. Has true Japanese garden setting and serenity, nice but not great. A bonus, however, is the walk in the park outside of the garden also worthwhile.

This garden is only open for two short periods in the year - for about six weeks in the Spring when the azaleas are out, and again in the autumn for two weeks when the maples turn red. It is such a small and lovely place to wander round, but try to go early morning or last thing or else the visit will be spoilt by the crowds. It is a wonderful place for photographers! You can't get refreshments there, but there is a Japanese 'teahouse' to sit and contemplate in. There are picnic facilities and places to eat in the main park, as the Japanese garden is a closed off area within a very pleasant larger park where you can have a long walk.

Looks great, specially in spring time. You need good directions to find it as it is part of another park

It's only open a few weeks per year, but it's nice to visit if you're lucky. The garden is set in a large and beatifull park. Really nice to wander around (so even visit it when the Japanese garden is closed!)
