Owner description: The Louwman Museum is home to the world's oldest private collection of motor cars, compiled by two generations of the Louwman family. The museum dates back to 1934 and now comprises over two hundred and fifty antique and classic motor cars. Experts regard the collection as one of the most beautiful in the World. The museum exudes passion. Each car has its own story to tell, its own contribution to history. The motor car is a mirror of culture. The collection is housed in a purpose-built museum in The Hague, the city where P.W. Louwman established his Dodge and Chrysler import company. The building, designed by American architect Michael Graves, blends in sympathetically with its historic surroundings. The landscape gardens, designed by Lodewijk Baljon, complement the architecture of the building.

it was a great experience! very informative and amusing. there are two floors but the ground floor is the best. theres's also the first passenger toyota car ever made that was discovered in a russian forest! but you have to take the bust to go here and the bus comes only once an hour

We visited here for free, but even if we had to pay it would still be excellent. There are some really special cars, ranging from steam cars to group c prototypes to the James Bond Aston Martin adn the oldest existing toyota (Louwman is the importer of Toyota in the Netherlands).

I did miss some more recent cars, 1980's and later, and there is not much interactiveness (making it a little less suited for younger children), but the things that were there were really nice.

This place doesn't do much advertising. We found out about it by word of mouth. But if you're in any way interested in cars, then this is without doubt the finest motoring museum in the world. I kid you not. It makes collections like those of Lord Beaulieu and Jay Leno look amateurish in comparison. There's not much here for kids but for adult enthusiasts there's everything from pre-Benz steam cars, to ex Mafia cars, one of Elvis's cars, Steve McQueen's Baja racer, Churchill's staff car and more. There are hundreds of collectibles too - art, sculptures, toys etc. if you're in any way a petrol head you owe it to yourself to visit this museum.

If you like cars this museum takes you on a cool journey through car history. Including VIP cars (e.g. James Bond and Elvis). Make sure you wear silent shoes because the museum is quite!

I am not a car buff but this collection must be one of (if not) the finest in the world.
not a cheap museum to visit (charging for parking for example) but the experience is really worth it. you need to allow more time that you imagine as the collection is simply vast, and jaw-dropping in its quality.
